Test marines and doubts...

Hi everyone!

This is my crash test for a homemade Primaris color scheme, and I would like to have your opinion about it.

There are a few constraints: it has to be quite dark, fast to apply, with very few metallics. So, lots of drybrushing, and no edge highlight.

I tried a kind of flame glow ond the shoulder pads and in the eyes and that is pretty much all the ornament I would concede to this scheme, as I see the chapter as kind of dishonored (lore coming, maybe...) but I wonder if it wouldn't need more red somewhere. Knees, back packs, elbows... i don't know.

Also, light is pretty strong on the picture, it is a bit darker than that. Anyway, red and bluish grey marines that are not Crimson Fists, what do you think?

I think they look pretty good. Maybe just a dot of white in the eyes and they'll pop more. But it's a neat scheme.

I agree with @Terminatorinhellsome white highlights will really give you the deffinition you (might) need for this. great stipling and best of luck

I really like how the shoulder pad came out.  

 

Have you considered targeting just the defined edges with the drybrush to give it a quick edge highlight? Or is that contrary to the look you're going for?
