So we're just waiting for @Trokair to get Tarh out of the doorway as Kraggan will be hitting the Big Red Close Bast Door Button and then Heretek Use + Combi-Tool and Xerxes Assist with his Wheeled Cogitator on the Door to get it Locked.

Questions regarding the door:

I was imagining it opening outwards into the corridor, rather than inwards into the command centre? So if it's locked, they'll really struggle to open it from outside?

But if I'm wrong about that, would it be worthwhile piling something (the storage stuff from inside) behind the door? Or doing something to block/foul the hinges so it won't swing inwards?

Also, we entered a code into a terminal outside and the door opened. Has anyone wrecked that terminal yet? Otherwise the purples can just re-enter the code and open it?

@Xin Ceithan Rakash hasn't acted yet this Round, would it be worth him maybe putting a quick Bolt Round into the outside terminal?

I can't recall, but it would have to open inwards for Tarh and Seryna to take cover at the sills/jamb, so I'll rule it opens inwards.

It would have to be sturdy stuff, but there's nothing stopping you.

Oh I had it in my head as a set of heavily reinforced lift doors or sci-fi bulkhead (i.e. those which open side-to-side and don't swing open). Well this is a very interesting development!

Are you...uh...into doors?

I thought this might be the obvious way….

… and how are we going to get out of there, in case  we wreck the door doing that ?

Also, are we still in structured time? Would that even work in time?

You boys realise there's another floor above you with two doors' access to it, right?

Yes, you're in Structured Time, but you should have sufficient actions to get the door closed. The enemy are at least 50m away, and even if they ran, that's a minimum of two Rounds.

Yup, I was thinking if we wreck the door on the ground floor we can still get out on the 1st floor. And it (hopefully) means no-one is coming up the stairs behind us.

Once the door is closed, you'll have a couple of Narrative 'breather' Rounds to tidy up, but I will say First Aid after this round is going to start eating penalties as supplies run low. Unless you spend time making even rudimentary dressings or compounds, I am going to start docking points off the Medicae Tests to represent the pressing lack of elasto-plasts.

I should also caution Mortal Players who need to breathe, that any narrative from this point forth should include your air-bottles (in the vacc suits etc) running out - they will drain at the completion of Round 5.

I thought that it would slide sideways into a recess and I posted such in my Surprise Round Post like a Deathstar blast door although in 40K there probably be triangular little walls at each corner on both sides where people could crouch for cover.

That is how I imagined it.

To be fair, the description can be any of the ones proposed, it's not a problem. As long as the door is referred to as 'robust', 'solid' or 'stout' to reflect how sturdy it is, etc etc, no harm no foul. Players can speak as they find!

As Xerxes predicted, I'm going to burn through it with a mining laser anyway, er - whoops, would you look at the time! I left something on the stove!

Is this for both Medikits the team has or just the one that Tarh has been using for the First Aid tests on party Members?

Re Air, are there any immediate effects to depleting the bottle? On account of the injury sustain I think Tarh's void suit is damaged (and I narrated as such) so he may not have been on bottle air for a few rounds now.

I think it's been Tarh doing most of the patching up so far, so yes, yours will be the most depleted.

None, you're in good atmosphere. Just as long as you or the character understands. To be frank and honest, I don't expect to expose you to vacuum or implosion - it's more a tool for me to say: 'These Players can go and do this exremely dangerous thing, which involves vacuum and implosions, YOU can go and pet the hungry hungry caterpillar.'

Hagga might grab one of the knives, as he lost the one he got at character creation?

...not that he really needs one, but I guess a giant, flaming sword is not inconspicuous...

Not a problem, but it will use the human stats.

No worries. I wasn't really thinking of use as a weapon, anyway, it's just so that he's got one for narrative purposes (for example, when swearing the blood oath back in the Krokodil, he had to borrow a knife from someone else!)

If no one has any objections, he'll snag one of the canteens too? I think last time we had some as part of loot, we handed them out to the mortals before the Astartes...

I have images now of Hagga stabbing Druid with a swiss army knife.

Hagga: 'Got you now, scum!'

Druid:  'Egads, I am undone!'

Hagga:  *stab, poke, stab, poke, poke* 'Any time now! Any minute now...'

Druid:

Hagga et al:

Your poking about corrals:

  • 5 x Autoguns
  • 8 x Magazines for them
  • 2 x Human-sized Frag Grenades
  • 2 x Suit repair kits
  • 1 x Tube of sealant (which may function as Repair Cement).
  • 2 x Full canteens of potable water
  • 1 x slightly scorched and dinged mining laser with a wonky barrel from being used as a battering ram.
  • Handful of standard knives (aka Astartes toothpicks)

Any axe rakes or pistols have been destroyed by power fields and general misuse during the fight. This also accounts for the other destroyed gear and weapons.

If everybody is fine with this Tarh will take 1 Autogun + 3 Magazines for it (so that I have a multi shot option from time to time) and the Frag grenades if nobody else wants them, though happy for those to go to others, Tarh would rather hang back and shoot from afar.

Also 1 Suit repair kit to mend the damaged void suit he currently has.

Edit: just saw Kraggan took 1 Frag Grenade, so will take the other if nobody else wants it more.

@Trokair Don't fret about sorting the Disorder for now, the Encounter is not yet over. When it is, you can roll for it if you like, with the ability to move up or down one entry in the table.
