Chalnath Dispatches: Teaser of things to come?

Recommended Posts

My hopes (and wallet) are betting stormboyz.

I wish they would credit the author of these fluff articles. I enjoyed this one more than the others, it would be nice to have someone to attribute it to. Seems like it would be a good way to build steam behind new BL authors.

I had very little interest in this until @LSM suggested fighting on a Titan.*

I really enjoyed Brutal Kunnin', especially the Titan assault.

Some fun could be had with ITD adjacent Titan takeover missions.

*Edit: I know it is a long-shot

This!

And if all else fails, that might be a reason to visit the RPG nook :whistling:

That  sounds like a fun scenario to play  at any rate and would make an ace climax for some RT Freebooter adventure !

I think when Imperators came out for Epic they carried or could carry companies of Guard in their legs

Warlords used to have Corvus Assault Pods where they could punch 4 stands of Terminators into a building

As said above, Titan terrain/backdrop/setting would be awesome

@Chapter Master Valrak have you any rumours on this?

Already discussed part of the next Kill Team boxset, do a full video on it next week once I sit down and have time, I am too busy playing Space Marine 2 at the moment  :)

Judging by the shadows on the teasers my money is on a Kill Team box of Elysians vs Vespids

Tempestuous Scions vs Vespids do instead? As that's what you're getting.

I think Valrak said the next box was Something vs Orks, so hopefully Stormboyz for that.

Yeah the second box is rumoured for ork vs Imperial.

I don't really get it. Orks had a foot slogging unit from kill team already, why revisit that?

I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all makes sense but from a high level perspective, I don't understand the thought process.

Not saying it has to be all flyers, although that would have been cool, but more foot sloggin' Orks? Am I missing something. I admit I am not an Ork player.

Tankbustaz?

I'm always surprised when I remember they're still Finecast with how well they mesh with the plastic Ork units released around the same time.

To be fair with the number of Guardsmen-adjacent teams we've had in three years I can't begrudge Orks getting a second one.

Damn, shame. Would have been cool if the "Season of Flyers" was a thing and was a way for GW to do refresh to winged units.

Completely the opposite for me, I'm glad to see that they're not going to abandon the old teams across editions and I'd much prefer to see more Kill team specific wierdness like War Cry gets rather than out of cycle 40K refreshes.

As far as foot orks, I could certainly see Skarboyz fitting, something in between Nobs and boyz who might fit a little easier into Kill Teams more granular scale. You've got more options to do a few crazy odd little bits that will make a Kill team operative be a bit different from their mates that would just be a bit of colour in a 40K squad.

I also think there's probably something interesting you could do with Nobs, wannabe nobs and their hangers on. Hype men shoutaz, burly runtpunts keeping grots and yoofs out the way whilst the big boss looks for a proper scrap, bullet jumpers ready to dramatically dive about as soon as the boss comes under fire, teefgitz charged with getting da best loot for da krew, solid dependable roadeez lugging around the spare choppaz and extra rokkits, all alongside completely useless flunkies that only put the effort in if the boss is watching and the various runts doing the runt work.

Same with Flashgitz and deckhands or Meks and Spannaz.
