I could imagine/hope half the team being new plastic Tankbusta's who come in a unit of 5 and the other half a mix of that Kommando Killteam sprue... A mix of something new and something that they need to push out the door as well ...

(They must've had a lot of them as that killteam Kommando and Krieg box went pretty cheap for a while there, my mate and I split three of em...that reminds me I have more Kommando's hiding in the cupboard )

Tankbustas as an upgrade sprue for the kommandos would be very interesting!

There's enough modularity on the kommandos to do that. That could be a lot of fun. I had 4 sets of kommandos...

According to CMVs stream tonight the 2nd box is Ogryns plus something v Orks, so Ratlings :)

That's hard to envision if it's truly a flying season, as I assume the Orls will be Stormboyz. Would be neat to see though, abhumans are best humans (*growls in Fellgor*)

Flying season has been dismissed/informed rumours sayeth only Scions v Vespids has flyers or jump troops

Tankbustas would certainly be appropriate to deal with that! We can but hope for that and an updated datasheet for 40k with squads up to 10 strong.

It seems like the jump Scions leaked over on reddit, it looks legit and they look amazing! All new kits with non derpy proportions, Guard is certainly getting the good sculptor to work on their line, it's not Elysians but a head swap will make them close enough imo.

Now if only we got Drop Sentinels...

A mini drop sentinel is also rumoured to be part of the squad.

I think they were first mentioned in the 5th ed codex (I think as a race initially that many recoil from but who had been brought into the Empire alongside a bunch fo other 3d sphere races - possibly after the little mind worm Nagi joined and made 'communication' a lot easier).

Lexicanum then says that there's an Alpha legion book (Sons of the Hydra) that covers a bunch of these guys in more detail, as a group of species who had been nearly wiped out by the Imperium coming together to get revenge.

They'd be particularly interesting alongside someone like the Tarrelians in that they're a bit like the Kroot - whilst most are allied with the Tau it's not universal, and others can be found in mercenary bands willing to work with anyone with an axe to grind against the Imperium.

Interesting to me though that the Tempestus narrator uses the term "Fire Team" in describing his Kill Team's deployment/ strategy, as the fire team method of KT construction was a Compendium only methodology. Now, just because the term is used in a story doesn't mean that Fire Teams are being added back in... But it MIGHT mean that.

And consider that one of the coop modes described in the other article describes one player taking half of a team and another player taking the other half. Now that COULD mean that each is just playing with a full team, so in the case where both players were deploying the same faction, the KT would be double sized. But it could also mean that you pick a fire team each.

Where this gets interesting is looking at requisitioned forces in Ashes of Faith; there, your team could be a double shot of hench, but it could also be x Hench + x Scions, or X Hench + SoS. I don't think they actually used the words "Fire Team," but that is the concept, regardless of what they called it.
