Dammit… I thought I was done with the suffering of trying to complete The Siege of Terra limited edition set. I’m REALLY not looking forward to the website shenanigans with this one. Oh well. Once more unto the breach.

Ah ok the scouring. got it. how many books is that going to be?

Another 50 probably, with limited editions, super limited editions and maxi supreme super limited editions

And novellas as well in between

What I've heard is The Scouring series will be bigger than the SoT series but nothing like the main HH series. Think along the lines of the Primarchs series which is 17 main books.

Also, take with a huge grain of salt but the Horus Primarch novel may be getting a reveal at the BL preview thing they have.

To be fair, that was the original plan for the Heresy as well.

I hope that's the case, but until GW finds something else since Dawn of Fire didn't go the way they wanted (at least I don't think due to community sentiment).

I once again ask for a Badab series

That would surprise me about the Scouring if its that long ; very curious to hear an announcement from them about it.

On the other hand, Dawn of Fire is 9 books and what does that cover really, seems less significant than the Scouring.

Wait

So this is legit? So I'm going to have to battle the inhuman scalpers AGAIN in order to complete my LE run of SoT, which I thought was already complete and I didn't need to get involved with those nonsense ever again....

I dont think this will be marketed or seen as part of the 10 book Siege of Terra series, it will something like Sons of the Selenar/Fury of Magnus, that still gets a special edition just like those also did.

Personally I just hope they release this and the Scouring series ( and ADB's folow up to Spear of the Emperor...), not bothered about the scalpers anymore, let that not be a reason to withhold books.

I don’t think this is part of the SoT is it?

It is a part of the SoT it’ll be an an anthology to close some additional plot points, likely set after the last book. It won’t be numbered like the others but will get a special edition that we saw leaked and will be the closer probably before the scouring

And the official announcement.

Quote

After many gruelling battles, the Siege of Terra is over, and with it, the Horus Heresy is concluded. The Emperor is victorious, the Warmaster vanquished, but at what cost to the Imperium? While the climactic battle may be over, the story has not finished, and the next Siege of Terra book from Black Library is Era of Ruin, an anthology featuring stories set both during and after the greatest internal conflict the Imperium has ever known.

I do like the artwork, but it is quite the surprise that warhound titans come knight sized. Ridiculous that anything could call itself a "titan" at *quick google* 17 METERS?!? how? who thought that sounded impressive? Did they just take the miniature proportions of a titan and compared it to a guardsman figure while forgetting that their vehicles were at a different scale?

I'll enjoy more stories, but dread the fact that Siege of Terra has now just become a Horus Heresy 2.0 series instead of the capstone limited run it was supposed to be. Also absurd they didn't put this announcement in the LVO preview.

I couldn't get the limited edition The End and the Death vol.3 with the new website (while I managed to get all the other ones). I'm still angry about it, I won't hold my breath on this one.

But I can't wait to read it nonetheless.

I'm glad to see ADB again - I know he's had some fairly significant health issues (mentioned on his blog) that've prevented him from writing for a while (hence the hiatus on the Black Legion series and the second Spear of the Emperor novel). Hopefully a sign he's bouncing back and doing well. :)

I honestly don't want the stress trying to get this. Last time was an utter :cuss: show, and got even worse when GW tried to intervene with the scalping.

Here's to hoping they don't try to release it with like 5 different limited edition on the black library celebration again. "Later this year" could be next week or December with how coherent they are.

I had heard recently that he has been writing 40k lore rather than novels lately. Not sure where that comes from but I find it believable.
