The wait screen before the actual queue said you'd be allocated a random queue place rather than it being an actual queue of some sort as it used to be, so immediately it's given me a wait time as longer than an hour.

Seems no point even trying to get the book, not that I expected it would be possible considering how last time went.

Fingers crossed the timer to enter the queue will mean everyone who wants their copy gets one.

*Edit; I spoke too soon, my queue is more than an hour wait haha.

Yup same, been on the sire waiting for the queue since 09:30....and it's now paused?

It was always random

I'll be surprised if it hasn't been sold out by the time the queue resumes.

I'll be surprised if it wasn't like last time, I think it sold out before it was meant to be available? At the very least within seconds

At least last time you were able to search the name of the product at 9:55 and snag a copy (like with all preorders) but we'll have to see if this system turns out to be good or not.

Anyones queue unpaused or we all in limbo together?

Last time I went to the local shop to skip the queue entirely. Was in there for 9.55, logged in and waiting to order the second it was available. It still wasn't enough to get the book.

Given the time they had and known demand and inability to manage the last one,  they should've just made this Made To Order and printed enough copies for those who order within a few days, even if needs 6-12 months lead time

The queue system does not work. Why are GW so incapable of acknowledging this? Their management over this is frankly poor.

The only solution is to open up pre-orders x months before release for a period of time—say 1 week etc. During this period of time, if you order the book, you will get a copy. Once the pre order window has closed, they then send the order off to the printers.

Because as is, I have no inclination to collect LEs anymore because I don't see there being any chance of getting a book, let alone a whole series. Before this random queue system went in I got every single book I went for. I have got zero LEs since this queue launched.

It would be nice if everyone could get one but making thousands of numbered & signed limited edition books would kind of defeat the point of them in the first place, as well as be just a huge task to actually do.

Totally agree, especially that this is not part of the 8(10) book series.

100% agree and I'm in the same boat: since the queue system went in I couldn't get anything and I have all the other Siege of Terra LE (so every single one except The End and the Death Vol 3). It's so infuriating.
But yeah, I'm trying this one but I won't fight for it if I don't get it.
This ship has sailed, I'll stop collecting LEs for new series from now on. It's honestly not worth the hassle.

There's no practical solution here unfortunately. Far, far larger companies have been dealing with scalping of this nature for years and not having any success. And whilst I agree having a made-to-order run would be excellent that sort of undermines the point of it being a limited edition; and also just gives scalpers another potential purchase route.
