Not played this yet but my 1080 still handles everything I throw at it, so your ti should be fine. I get a decent 60FPS on Darktide on medium-high settings and can even play it ok on max so I expect this to be fine too.

A 1080 can totally handle it, but your 6 years old processor probably can't

I’m running an i5 10600 (6 cores, 12 threads, 4.8GHz) so that’s 2 gens above the minimum required. It’s not top of the range but again it works its a** off in games.

Looking at the "recommended" specs on Steam, the AMD/Intel CPUs listed both have 8 cores (ignoring the e-cores for the purposes of this discussion), whereas the "minimum" specs are 6 cores, so that's not overly surprising.

When I say it works its a** off I mean it’s good lol

Ah, right. I understood it as meaning that it was being kept under high load

Haha no it definitely punches above its weight. The motherboard you put it in makes a difference too, because some can’t give you the top processor speed

I’ve not found anything it can’t run yet and it’s still a system that can be built very cheap.

I'm playing on PS5 and it's working well. The 60fps mode does have a few drops however, but gameplay is fine.

If anyone is wondering!

Edit:

I have made it further into the game, and now I actually think that the 60fps mode is not ideal. I'll be using 30 in the meantime as it's more stable and looks significantly sharper. I will reassess when the PS5 Pro comes out.

I am on console as that is where my social circle does the most gaming. I'm aware that PC offers better performance

I hate to say it... I really do, but I'll probably have to skip this entirely.  My SSD drive doesn't even have 75 GB free, nevermind the 5+ you need just to do a windows update nowadays.

The rest I'm probably bare minimum. So I'm sure I need a wholesale upgrade just to launch the updater. lol

Well, can't you just greenstuff more Gigs on?

I notice on steam and reddit theres a lot of feedback that its really slow loading games and the single player campaign is extremely short...somewhere around the 6 - 7 hour playtime mark, even on high difficulties.

Played it on console; loading times weren’t horrible, but I’m downloading it now on my gaming laptop to compare. Campaign is definitely longer than 6-7 hours; I beat it on the second hardest difficulty (and am now replaying on the hardest) and it took me probably around 12-15. And that was without crazy amounts of exploration or anything, I definitely missed collectibles and such. The last mission alone was 3+ hours when I played it.

Have you purchased twice to play on console and PC?

So far things are running alright, there is a bit of load on the CPU, but comparatively it's on par with Ace Combat 7 or a particularly busy bit of Cyberpunk 2077. I'm running an i7 8700K, 1080Ti and 16GB RAM. So not too bad off I'd say. I'm not getting 60FPS by any means, but it's stable enough.

This makes me feel positive. What GFX settings are you using?

I'm on  13600k, 1080, 32G Ram, and testing yesterday I couldn't get it above 23fps, even on 1920x1280 and Low settings. No idea what's up with that. I do run Linux, I suppose that could have something to do with it..

Or is my CPU truly the problem?

Either way I think I'll be waiting for ultrawide support before I'll play the campaign.

My PC is pretty haggard nowadays (6 years old and had some rough times) but it is running SM2 pretty solidly (on all low settings, but it still looks pretty damn good):

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600 CPU @ 3.10GHz

Nvidia GTX 1080ti

16Gb RAM

I was honestly quite concerned about performance because of how rundown my rig is, but it's holding up well - not even getting heat issues.
