I have an old geforce gtx 980 and a intel core i5-8600k.
Do you think it can run on it?

I had an i5-8600k and it would "run", but at full utilization as well as with enemies teleporting and the audio dropping. If I was on Discord at the same time, I would frequently be cutting out there, indicating an over taxed CPU.

It'll work, but it'll be rough. Your graphics card is also probably a bit of a liability.

This makes me feel positive. What GFX settings are you using?

Generally high, with Volumetrics  Cloth Simulation on medium, and Occlusion and Reflections on default. I might crank it down a little tonight to see if I can free up some FPS, but it plays solid enough that I'm not worried. My buddy and I are doing the campaign co-op, we've only had a couple hiccups so far on map transfer, I'm not sure but I think we missed half of the first co-op mission after entering the gate. We both did a full restart and things were fine after that.

Well, I can run it fine, but I would rather install it on my HDD rather than SSD. That's quite an irritating requirement.

Nah, you want it on the HDD. All your games should be on an HDD if they came out after 2015. Just head and shoulders better load times for basically everything.

HDD is for playback media. Anything requiring streaming from the hard drive you want something solid state so that your access times don't bottleneck your through put.

Why on earth would you want any game on your HDD instead of an SSD?

That is like willingly handicapping yourself.

Mainly because it's a shared PC and my wife does a lot of photo and video editing using the SSD. It's a TB SSD and I probably need to get another, so I tend to put the games on the HDD which is 12TB and currently only half full, mostly with her pictures.

Most of the games I play are usually strategy games so the HDD is less of an issue and load times aren't too long. That's without even going into the NAS for the other photos...

It’s running very smoothly right now on low graphics settings on 1080p on my son’s PC:

i5 9600k

16GB RAM

GTD 1050ti

… which is not bad at all I don’t think, considering the GPU doesn’t meet the minimum spec.
