Operation Hivestorm Preview - 17/08/2024

Recommended Posts

Cool teaser. I hope it's all new edition of kill team without the weird symbol measurement system

That's all a new edition needs to fix - please do not invalidate the existing faction rules and operative statlines, GW; there are some I've not even managed to get a game with as I've still not painted them..! :laugh:

I think is Epic 40K, or simular. Like Legiones Imperialis but in W40K

Well, except for the Chalnath context, which is a known Kill Team location.

And also the Kill Team logo flashing on the screen to slide this one teaser into the Skaven preview.image.thumb.png.82b2817e0957bc7c5db5a8d5c2db6e09.png

Wasn't expecting a Kill Team jumpscare during my rat time. Scared the :cuss: outta me.

Wasn't expecting this but glad we'll be seeing more so soon. I think there's going to be a lot of neat, and in some cases much needed, kits coming out of these season and though I don't see myself getting the opening set I'm really curious to see how the 2 squads look. Hoping the Vespids get a good face lift.

Considering the Ork teaser article, it could end up being a 3 way brawl in the launch box.

Might be time to dust off my Tempestus army, especially since they’ve made my Rogue Trader army unfieldable.

I thought there was a full Navy Fleet detachment now tho.

I'm guessing the army is unfieldable now because Voidsmen-at-Arms gave their Battleline keyword to Navis Breachers and went down to a 5man+1dog unit max?

I doubt stormboyz will appear in the launch box but one of the others? Definitely. Will they be going up against swooping hawks perhaps or...err...what other flying units are there crying out for a refresh?

Wonder what will be fourth faction to join this fight.

Right now we have Imperium, Orkz and Tau.

I'm betting on... Custodes, they didn't have yet their Kill Team release.

Perhaps we'll get a full squad of the Votann jump troops that debuted in their previous kill team. Other than that I'm also scratching my head at what might be coming in this season unless some wholly new units are going to appear. Scourges or Pteraxii could get an upgrade sprue, GSC could get a jump unit... flying...Deathguard??

I wouldn't be surprised to see Vanguard Vets to wedge a Marine unit in there. - It's either that or Reivers with grav chutes and an upgrade sprue.

Daemons need a non-compendium team and Furies are a thing that exists, but only has Legends rules, so they could work.

Pictured- Furies as seen in AoS:

That said, World Eaters straight up do not have a team at all and it'd be really funny for their first team to be Berserker Raptors. Especially since Night Lords just got a team and had no Jetpacks in it at all.

Honestly, give the Reivers full jump packs, it might be enough to make the unit worth while

Also a bespoke SoS team would be wonderful, just to finally give them some more variety

The forearm looks alot like a Scion's.

Looks a bit like enforcers too.

The side things looks a lot like an old grav chute, but as I understood them they were only for a controlled fall- a bit like a parachute. These guys are properly flying and appear to be in the ascent. Maybe a retcon though.

Gargoyles are also in need of a refresh. Shrikes could be another Tyranid option since we have Winged Tyranid Prime.

Per Valrak's rumours, the next Kill Team releases are:

●Tempestus Scions vs Vespid.

●Mystery Guard Units vs Orks.
