Might be time to dust off my Tempestus army, especially since they’ve made my Rogue Trader army unfieldable.

Ug, don’t remind me of all the conversion work I have to undo because of the restriction to box options.

This could be an awesome season:

Potential Remakes:

- Raptors

- Swooping Hawks

- Stormboyz

- Custodes Venatari

- Vanguard Vets

New Units

- Votann Jumps

I doubt we'll get a fraction of these. Assuming there are three boxes beyond the Scions vs. Vespids starter and they keep the one new team, one upgrade kit, and one model, there's space for three of these, max.

In any case, I like the idea of GW pioneering a bunch of new formats with Kill Team. Board Actions is a fun sub-game. Moving to a vertically-focused paradigm creates some new design space. Maybe flyers will finally find their home!

Well, they finally brought the Death Korps to plastic, why not the Elysians?

GW are racing to remove finecast and forgeworld resin from the main game and you can tell which of those units have a model in progress if they survived into the main codex.

Because of this push tho, it would have killed DKoK, one of the most popular Guard SubFactions, so giving them Plastic kits is a priority since the Forgeworld kits will almost certainly be lost to the warp with the Codex release.

What this means for Elysians is that they're unlikely to be as pushed.

They're not on Forgeworld now and they disappeared from there well before the Great Resin Cull, so in terms of financial popularity they literally hit rock bottom.

If they come back, it'll probably be after a book features them and people start requesting GW put out a Made to Order print run to get their mits on the Droptroops.

@Tokugawa, @Indy Techwisp, you're both entirely correct. I'm just gonna be sad if we finally get jump-troop human soldiers again, and it's the Scions, possibly the least nice-to-look-at armoured human models they've put out (other than that cool commander with the coat) this century.

There's an argument to be made for not double-dipping on the design space, but in the end it's almost certainly going to be Scions. I'll just be yearning.

Perhaps we'll get a full squad of the Votann jump troops that debuted in their previous kill team. Other than that I'm also scratching my head at what might be coming in this season unless some wholly new units are going to appear. Scourges or Pteraxii could get an upgrade sprue, GSC could get a jump unit... flying...Deathguard??

Orks vs dwarfs makes a lot of sense

I guess they could be so bloated with gas they just float about like helium balloons? :teehee:

Ohh forgot about Scourges

So did GW to be fair.

Lame jokes aside, I really need to find out what those Vespid look like. Meaner, slightly rescaled faces and less chunky wings will do them the world of good.

I'm curious what the superweapon is, that is a seriously big gun, it looks like half a city is spread out underneath it.

I suspect it will only ever be a narrative point though

Custodes Not!Venatari seems like a good shout given they're one of the few 40k armies without a bespoke Kill Team. Similarly Sisters of Silence getting a winged/jump pack unit wouldn't be out of place, although given how much more popular the former are I think they'll take precedent.

Death Guard I can't see getting a jump pack unit for obvious reasons, but I suppose there's nothing to say every team this season needs to be flying - maybe they'll include them as a deliberate contrast to everything else? Nurgle Daemons and/or Chaos Furies were good ideas floated up the page. World Eaters will also need their own bespoke team at some point and jump packs do get them into the combat faster...

I'm sceptical about Scourges just because the kit isn't that old in the grand scheme and it's aged very well. Stormboyz are similarly already plastic but they're getting a bit long in the tooth by comparison.

Votann getting a third Kill Team in a row with a full JP Warrior unit would be... interesting, but then again this would be our hundredth Guard KT in three years so weirder things have happened.

Cool teaser. I hope it's all new edition of kill team without the weird symbol measurement system

Riiiight... So you hope they blow everything up, and we go back to indexes for a year while GW rereleases everything they've already released twice a thrid time before we get anything new? No thanks.

Shapes instead of numbers sucked. Edition churn sucks much, much more.

A new expansion? Fine. A new season? Fine. A new box? Fine.

A new edition?

No thanks.

Hoping that this isn't a new edition so I can continue ignoring Kill Team as the overcomplicated mess it currently is. If they simplify and restructure it, I might have to pay attention again. (No squad sized game should take 2 hours to play.)

Heresy melee weapons?... Longest spring ever.

I'm intrigued for new stormboyz but the current ones are spot on. I don't want to see more monopose, mono loadout, mono faced nonsense. Alas I fear that's what we'll get.

They and the Night Lords/Mandrake kill teams are competing on who can take the longest to come out

I really hope that if the team is a Scion one, then they're new sculpts and not an upgrade sprue for the old ones

Am I right in saying that the Yaegirs and Brood Brothers are already out then?

If it's a launch box then it shouldn't be an Upgrade sprue, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Gargoyles are also in need of a refresh. Shrikes could be another Tyranid option since we have Winged Tyranid Prime.

Per Valrak's rumours, the next Kill Team releases are:

●Tempestus Scions vs Vespid.

●Mystery Guard Units vs Orks.

Mystery Guard Unit > Reported to be Ogryns

Further confirmation of the preview coming this week.

Warhammer Community will kick the week off with something everyone loves – new miniatures reveals, while we’re returning to Hive Secundus for some hobby and gameplay articles. There’ll aso be news of the next preview – it’s going to be a great week no matter what kind of Warhammer fan you are.

Cool teaser. I hope it's all new edition of kill team without the weird symbol measurement system

Rumour mill says they have improved it. Now included is the "Square Root" icon which says the Range is 4" but only on a sunny day. Otherwise the range is 2.

Honestly, give the Reivers full jump packs, it might be enough to make the unit worth while

Also a bespoke SoS team would be wonderful, just to finally give them some more variety

Don´t they have grappling hooks in the game?
