resin is cheaper in every respect compared with plastics, especially if they're a gamble.

Which is why I will not abide FW charging MORE for a resin kit than GW charges for a plastic one.

If GW wants us to take arguments about resin being cheap seriously, pass the savings on to customers and then FW might actually get some uptake. But if they keep pretending that resins sculpts are worthy of pricetags we'd associate with something cast in precious metals... It'll be a cold day in hell before they get a dime from me.

And it's a shame, because there are some FW models coming that I really, really like- that Engineseer with the genestealer is just such a good model, and there's a pair of dudes who would be great in a Navy Army; they don't have cards, so I'd have to use them as "Count as Rogue Traders"... But they're perfect for a Navy Army.

Not that simple I am afraid:

- Tech priest engine seer (Plastic @ 31,5€) vs. Titan Tech-Priest Engine seer (resin @ 26€)

- 3 x Tech-Priest Dominus (Plastic 3x34=102€) vs. 3 Myrmidons as proxies (Resin @70€)

- a lot of dramatis personae or specialists (Resin) from Necromunda in the 34€ range, often 2 for that price, which is more or less equal to plastic SM characters

OK, I admit I had to look for these example, but it did not took me that much time neither.

Of course there are some/plenty opposite examples too, such as 3 Sheen birds at 31€ in Necromunda - organized crime at this level - and cost of some resin units and accesories (Peltast upgrade at 40€, com´on....).

This led me to think it has nothing to do with resin vs. plastic. And everything to do with charging has much as accepted by the customer. Value selling course 1o1: the good price is the price that satisfies both parties, not necesarily a cheap one but rather the highest acceptable by both.

But anyway, it belongs to other topic...

Back on the preview announced, I imagine it will focus only on the first isntalment of the season... ¿Probably? I must say I am more interested by the Scenry feature than by more miniatures atm, except if they release aKT for AdMech or SM that desesperatly need some love... SM are THE Special Op army per definition and they got almost nothing so far except a sprue for Phobos Mk X...

Edit: completely forgot the scouts... but was it really a KT release or a 40k in disguise?

Scout toujours...

Yeah, plastic characters have been speedrunning to catch up with resins for years now. The Votann plastic characters at RRP are actually more expensive than the resin Squat characters released around the same time.

Jumping back to the- uh, jump pack discussion, I wonder if they'll continue having one fully new kit and one which is an upgrade sprue (after the start-of-season box I mean)? If the whole season is themed around flyers, that could be tricky to pull off. Hopefully they go the Warcry route of every team being a new kit.

Well, if we only get three boxes this season that only leaves 3 unknown kits, with the Drop Scions, Vespid, and an ork kit making up the other half.

Swooping Hawks are a decent guess for a "new" kit. Scourges and Hellions might warrant an upgrade sprue, Gargoyles maybe too, though they're less likely.

Given that Chalnath opened with a Sisters unit, we know they're active "in theater" and that might mean they get a jump unit this time around.

Tyranid flying unit for KT would surely be Shrikes?

We got an Alpha Shrike in the Leviathan box, but curiously no unit to add them to in the codex.

Plastic Gargoyles are still very modern sculpts, it would be a waste of a slot to redo them.

Yeah, three warrior-scale Nids could be a cool elite Killteam. That, or lean in on the sneaky and make up something closer to the Leapers, but winged. Bit smaller and sneakier than Shrikes, though I suppose Gargoyles would still have that design space filled.

Venatari vs Shrikes would be a good matchup as far as model count.

I'm thinking Hawks vs Orks for the remaining box.

(Don't see Scourge being updated/upgraded, the models are great and they come with almost every available Drukhari special & heavy weapon.)

That's exactly why you might see scourges get a once over imo. The rules are one of the few that aren't limited to the contents of the box and are so customisable/variable they're already having to splinter out multiple point values for them.

Limiting their gear in a new kit or flanderising them to "scourge weapons" would be entirely on point for 10th 40k.

So how long till Valrak returns with a "there it is" gif again? I hope he keeps on that sources good side as they're fire when it comes to rumours.

Can't wait to get a good look at the vespid.

Spoiler

The famous nod in Jeremiah Johnson (1972) was performed by Robert Redford, not Zach Galifianakis. This is because Zach was only three years old at the time. : r/shittymoviedetails

They look good. I doubt we'll get it and I don't think it's really necessary but it would be nice if the normal Scions got a tiny brush up, I like them a lot but I've always felt their proportions are a little off, these guys look to have that issue fixed, they're shoulder and knee pads look a little smaller too which I think helps.
