Very excited for the Vespid – more minor xenos is always a great thing. Love the new mind control helmet free will supression unit compliance-ensuring device liberation helm.

Great trailer, really liked the Scion with guns akimbo and hoping you can outfit the whole unit as such though it wouldn't surprise my if it's just a specialist. Vespid look great here, the trailer has certainly done it's job of getting me excited for the reveals tomorrow.

Also nice to see another kill team with a doggo.

From the new video is looks like

1 sgt with pistol and powersword

1 drone with hotshot lasgun or whatever they are called

2 normal guys

1 demo guy.

1 sniper?

-5man unit + drone?

Vespids

1 rail gun

1 missile launcher

2-3 normals?

maybe also 5man?

kind of excited for this. seems cool. can't wait to see vespids.

That trailer was fire. Think one of the Scions was wielding dual-pistols too.

Love the turret. Always thought something like that would fit great with what Scions are meant to be.

Hope it'll be 10v10 though.

Well, I hoped for a slight tweak to the Vespid head and helmet design and it seems I got my wish. Unless they seriously mishandle the sculpts this may be a day-one purchase for me. I can't wait to find out more.

That's where I am, yeah. Always liked the bodies of the Vespids, not so much the heads. Actually wanted them to be MORE different, just redesign and make it more buggy, but we'll see how the sculpts look. Fully onboard with the new command helm, that's sick looking. I like that it's more Tau, more of an adjustment from the Vespid outline.

I only see four in the trailer (sergeant, pistols guy, scope guy, and power cabling guy). And the turret.

I guess being able to fly is a big advantage, but that'd be a tiny team in game.

The leaked Soldat images shows three guys with magazine'd guns, and only the one with the power cabling, so I wouldn't be surprised if the above four are just the specialists, and then you get a certain number of "normal" guys to fill out the roster.

This is a good point.

My first reaction was negative, but that's only because the colour scheme reads as Chaos for me because it's a similar palette to my Black Legion, given a bit more of a 'yeah but what if they were blue' thought they are well done, but unless they get included in the Guard dex or PDF'd into Imperial agents, then I can't see having a use for them.

Yeah it's always been wild to me how they gave the Scions a big chunk of chaos aesthetic with that chestpiece. Not a fan. Deserves a date with the file to trim the ornamental arrows off that trim.

Colours have been mentioned by a few people- I find this as weird as companies who advertise their beer as "cold."

Models will only be in the colours depicted if you choose to paint them that way, just like beer will only be cold if you put it in the fridge.

I guess that's why I never went into advertising.

The pistols akimbo guy is probably a throwback to this Rogue Trader art:

Multiple Kill Teams have a paired pistol operative. Even more if you count paired weapons in general. It's an established Kill Team thing, rather than any kind of throwback. The artwork may still have influenced the decision to have paired pistols in this Kill Team though, as not all have them.

The colour they present a model in shapes the first impression - I'd agree with you if the first look was the unpainted model and then there were examples, but the colours chosen for the promotional pics draw attention to or disguise elements of the model and a first instinctual judgement is made before you can mentally strip that away.

For me the choice of black and gold on the model emphasised the similarity of the breast plate lining to chaos marine edging/detail, which is a negative.

Much to my personal displeasure, a whole lot of people paint what's on the box. Sad but true.

Rewatching the trailer and its pretty cool that the robot sentry gun can move (walk), like a  little violent Wall-E

Rewatching it again and its a servitor as you can see the human skull and a bit of a spine

If this is what new gun servitors in general look like then thatd be pretty heckin cool

Getting some Halo 3 ODST vibes from that video, I want to try putting a Navy Breacher head on them, trimmed down maybe, and they would look great. Will still trim down some of the Scion details as I've never been fond of them.

Gun servitors got an updated model just over a year ago, I doubt they're being re-designed. The gun in the video is very similar to the sentry guns of Necromunda, just more advanced. Remember the Imperium uses human parts in lots of technology as a replacement for AI. Everything from automata to door locks. None of that stuff is a Servitor, so just having a skull and a bit of spine doesn't make this a servitor either.
