That video looks really good, 40k can still look awesome when it wants to.

Those Scions are my ideal of an elite human unit, I may be seriously tempted to get those and Vespids are one of my favorite races so win win.

More important thing than what Vespids or Scions have tho.

This is confirmed to be a new edition.

Have there been any credible rumours about what that means for the existing teams we have now?

Credible? Don't think so, just the /tg/ stuff.

I'd be surprised if Compendium teams survived though. I could also see White Dwarf teams getting tossed in the bin just because you can't buy a Kill Team-branded box of them and GW is into that compartmentalisation thing now.

So if it's a new edition, that might mean waiting til separates come out to get the models.

I'm not spending a dime on another game with a three year lifespan.

Necromunda folks seem to be the only people who have figured out that edition churn sucks, and makes people HATE your company, even if they're addicted to buying the models.

If GW's playerbase doesnt figure it out and start supporting their own rule sets, this is just how its always going to be. It costs GW nothing, they dont invest into the rules, they just reap massive profits because the players will (looking at you 10th) buy anything, in any state.

Ah, that would really suck, since my 3 Killteams are Warpcovern (White Dwarf), Chaos Daemons (Compendium, also only Tzeentch lol) and Intercession (A WarCom Download iirc).

I'd basically go from 3 teams to 0 and that would be very annoying.

I think the only ones I would consider to be credible are ones from Valrak saying that nothing is really changing in the core rules of the game - but there may be something different done with how the scouting phase and equipment works, given there is going to be things like modelled smoke bombs and bridges/ramps as options alongside barricades.

I don't even know if I'd be that certain on the Compendium going, as there's really just three teams that have been replaced (Thousand Sons, AdMech, Harlequins) and still Deamons, Grey Knights and Tyranids that don't have another option. So even if those three make up the the last two boxes of next season of Kill Team, the Compendium might just stay as it is for another year before being completely relegated to Legends status - I think that'll depend on whether there's some kind of generic equipment options (smoke, climbing ropes, barricades etc) and how that interacts with list building vs the scouting phase.

If the new edition of this game is a complete reset i.e. All existing Kill Teams are invalidated, then my friends and I have decided we will ignore it and carry on playing with the current edition. I've got almost a dozen Kill Teams from this edition, either assembled and painted or waiting to be painted, so with those and the ones my friends have, we can carry on enjoying the game even if GW have moved on.

I'm sincerely hoping that it's not going to be that big a change - just clear up the current rules by folding in all the Faq's and balance slates, and keep all existing Kill Teams and Operative profiles remain compatible.

...but this IS GW were talking about... :ermm:

Thinking about it, the fact that Nemesis Claw, Mandrakes, Brood Brothers and Hernkyn Yaegir have yet to get their individual release could be seen as point in favour of them not scrapping all the KT21 teams outright because that's a lot money left on the table if they just don't release those as playable.

Just rewatched the trailer and compared the pictures to my existing scions.

Looks like the new models have a mix of slightly shorter carbine style rifles with miniature scopes, probably something like a red dot sight. The rifle in the video with a scope looks like a standard hot shot rifle like the ones in the existing kits.

So if it's a new edition, that might mean waiting til separates come out to get the models.

Your last paragraph, along with various other things, is the main reason I switched back to Necromunda being my main game, despite being out of it for the best part of 10 years, with only half an eye on it.

However, on topic, the new Scions look really nice! To be honest, much as I like the regular Scions techno-mediaeval aesthetic, they've always felt a bit clunky compared to the Kasrkin. The old Stormtroopers (fully armoured ones, not the beret-wearing alpha chads) felt like a better Scion, but that could be me. I think it's the streamlining that makes them; just enough techno-mediaeval to mark them out as special, but with that real world military feel that follows the rest of the IG range.

I'm most interested in seeing what will the Vespids look like. Hopefully, GW gives them a big refresh in 11th like they did Kroot in 10th.

I'm also waiting for a bespoke Tyranid KT. Update Gargoyles to have all the Gaunt strains. Give them weapon options.

Or even Shrikes to go with the Winged Tyranid Prime.

Do we think GW is going to create a compendium team for jump focus kt?

Or will it be moslty bespoke jump pack kill teams?

No to both. It was pure speculation on Valrak's part there (the season of flyers) - we're not even sure if the Scions Aquillion can jump yet or if they just have grav chutes.

He says the next kits are pure ground pounders, one IG with Ogryns and Ratlings, the other armoured Orks of some kind.

I'm hoping there's a pretty big redesign of the Vespids, the new Kroot are incredibly faithful to the old models but I don't think anyone really wants that for the old metal/finecast Vespid. The tech for that kind of model has moved on a lot. I definitely want an old and new one to stand out next to each other.
