Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf
Many years ago, Laurie Goulding( Writer and editor for BL during lot of time. Now, he is Narrative Director of the League Studio Creative eXpressions Team at Riot Games Inc) intervened in a forum (now closed and lost most of the information on it) gave Black Library's official Primarch discovery order. Thankfully, this information was rescued and posted again here, but after so many years some few notes must be added. Anyway, this still looks like canonical. Well, as much canonical something about Warhammer can be, from GW! I add some extra notes at the end. Horus Lupercal* Leman Russ [DELETED FROM IMPERIAL RECORDS]** Ferrus Manus Fulgrim Vulkan Rogal Dorn Roboute Guilliman Magnus the Red Sanguinius Lion El'Jonson Perturabo Mortarion Lorgar Aurelian Jaghatai Khan Konrad Curze Angron Corvus Corax [DELETED FROM IMPERIAL RECORDS] Alpharius Omegon*** Notes: *Officially, Horus was the first recovered Primarch but in the novel Alpharius: Head of the Hydra, Alpharius himself states that he was the first Primarch recovered, hidden by the Emperor and Malcador for secret purposes. He was recovered in Terra, in Zharinam (aka Zhari Namco) Plateau. Remember, is Alpharius. Can be true or not... ** The Primarch of the Second Legion, according the Book Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix. So, the other is the Eleventh Primarch, the 19th recovered. ***Instead of Alpharius, was Omegon, his twin brother. Stated by Alpharius in Alpharius: Head of the Hydra. Same counsel as above (See *). Hope you can find this useful. Petitioner's City
I think the best - comparative - source for this is Tymell's uber detailed timeline https://sites.google.com/site/tymellsheresy/horus-heresy-timeline-notes-potential-spoilers?authuser=0 It should be on all our bookmarks! I really had no idea how long after the heresy some of the primarchs persisted. Vulkan was around for another 1500 years? Does the beast series go into what the imperium as like then? I'd have thought Vulkan would have assumed the mantle, however I think he was just a war leader in that period with the high lords in charge? Karhedron
Vulkan only reappeared briefly during the War of the Beast and had been largely absent since the Scouring. It was a shock to Imperial forces that a Primarch still lived. Vulkan explained that he had been fulfilling a different duty and had only emerged due to the dire threat of the Beast. It is implied that he has been on duty as guardian of the webway portal in the Throne room. That is how he spent most of the Siege, even the other Primarchs did not learn he was on Terra until almost the end. Near the end of the War of the Beast, Vulkan was presumed killed on Ullanor when he detonated the massive Waagh Generator powering the Gargant-Temple. Unlike other occasions during the War when he had appeared to be killed, Vulkan did not respawn and it was assumed he had finally been killed for good. The three main theories regarding this are as follows: Certain psychic attacks are one of the few things that can permantently kill a Perpetual. Possibly the vast explosion of Waagh energy was too much even for Vulkan to come back from. Vulkan did in fact reincarnate but went back to guarding the Throne Room. This seems a bit unlikely as there were still several major battles before the War of the Beast ended. If the Beast was enough of a threat for Vulkan to leave the throne room, it seems unlikely he would return until the threat was ended. The Waagh power inhibited Vulkan's Perpetual regeneration temporarily. This means he might have still been MIA at the end of the War of the Beast but has either since respawned in the Throne Room to continue his vigil or might return in future (as the Salamander prophecy will happen when they recover all 9 of his missing artefacts). Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf
I don't think Vulkan is dead, neither Dorn. In fact, I think both are in Terra. Or near. calgar101 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383909-primarchs-oficial-order-of-recovery/#findComment-6064302 Share on other sites
calgar101
Personally I think the Waaagh energy delayed Vulkans perpetual ability, as Karhedron mentioned above. I'd say he is back guarding the Throne or stuck on Nocturne. Also I think Dorn could be in the inner sanctum of the Phalanx, where the Imperial Fists shut away their librarians after the Edict of Nikae. His grief/shame, driven him mad.
