I was really hoping the Vigilus army of renown would give me a new cool way to play phobos Raptors stuff but it was a disapointment. Also stormspeeders are piloted by phobos just lile impulsors... Why didn't they make it in.

Phobos Section I will be working on

From Top to bottom: Suppressors, Eliminators, Incursors, 2 squads Infiltrators, Captain, LT, and Librarian....I need to get Duz's favorite unit -Reivers and Riever LT out of storage

Units to eventually Work on:

Top to bottom: Sniper scouts, Shotgun scouts, melee scouts, 2x Bolter scouts, Apothecaries, Master of Signals (Company Ancient), Imperial Space Marine (Legends may be a LT) , Captain, Chaplain, Librarian

Top to bottom; Land Speeder Typhoon, Predator Destructor, Land Speeder Typhoon, Scout Bikes, Team 7- Kill Team, and Objective counters I need to rebase to 40mm or larger

So I need to build bases for my Suppressors and one of my friends needs bases for his Pteraxii Sterylizors, plus my 2nd Seraphim squad needs their 7 bases done so I will be building Ruined building bases this weekend....

So time for the update.....Still more to doo later but heres where we are at:

Thursday- Finished Suppressor bases, started building Reivers (Found 10 unbuilt ones I forgot I had...)

Friday

Finished building bases for Objective Counters and Bases from my Friends Pteraxii Sterylizors. Finieshed build both reivers squads (combat blade/ grave chute and bolter squads) and built Invictor War Suit. Also did all the bases for built models.

Saturday I airbrushed the newly built models

then I did the 1st wash last night

Sunday Shoulder pads and knees gloss varnished for decals....

Been working on my Indomintus Chaplain for my Raptors. I need to Airbrush his shoulder pad and Knee.

So I spent lots of time last week doing decals, gluing magnets on to bases and setting up models for the game I had palnned saturday with my gaming group

in between decal drying time, I continued working on my Chaplain

Repainted my Phobos lIbraian's base and cloak

And I started working on my Primaris Librarian

Game time- 1k

Raptors Phobos - Phobos Captain (Warlord, Ex Tenebris), Phobos Librarian, 5 man Drop Reivers CCW, 5 man Incursor squad with haywire, 2 5 man Infiltrators one with helix, one wth comms, Invictor War Suit, 3 Suppressors, and 3 eliminators.

Vs

Army of renown Vanguard- Reiver LT (Warlord relic melee weapon), Phobos Librian, 5 man Reivers CCW, 5 man Incursor squad, 5 man infiltrator squad, Invictor warsuit, 3 suppressors, 3 eliminators, and impulsor with 3 ironhails and frag launchers.

first turn I failed to kill the eliminator squad but took it down to 1 model alive. Then it went side ways..... suppressors, Captain and invictor all died in 1st turn.

Top of turn 2 I was able to get Phobo Librarian in to melee and killed his librarian and infilitrators, but I had his LT killing one of my infilitrator squads and reivers in a stand still with the other one.

Turn 3 I had to conceed as i was down to less than a handful of models

Where the Vanguard excel is small point games like this where you dont have heavy armor to deal with. He played against A tyranid swarm next game and was getting trashed pretty bad.

I made mental errors and bad dice rolls but Raptors made it to the table!

Thanks they are a nice break from painitng Grey Knights

 

It was a standard sized table.  Captian's death was my fault, not moving him to cover and then failing to hit or wound with all but 1 shot from Ex Tenebrius. Lots of early dice rolls that were bad hurt me and me not using CP. Loss was my fault. My Next game was on same table an same pt level but my Grey Knights vs Orks and I won by 2 VPs.

I'm just starting out with Raptors - Leviathan really swayed me and I have a bunch of Phobos marines - got a game tonight so hopefully it's fun!

So I have not touched my Raptors since February 2022. And after much internal debate I have decided to part ways with them, the Scouts are already gone and eventually I will offer up what Marine stuff to my group to see what they want. I am keeping a few models for various reasons (my Kill Team 7, Custom Chaplain and Apothecaries will be reassigned to my Raven Guard Horus Heresy army). My 10th Edition Leviathan stuff will become 1st Co Raven Guard as it will be all Terminators and Dreads. My group is currently not playing 10th so I am not in a rush to get them built and painted plus I have my huge Grey Knights army painted I can use. 

 

So I will continue to update my progress here but mainly as RG HH army. Yes @duz_ that means I will be painting stuff....I think.

Looks like there are some nice builds in there, especially the Praetor(?) using the FW parts and the bare head from the new plastics. Looking forward to some more photos and shots from the campaign.

So I am long time Dorn Fan with 3rd edition Black Templars, 4-7th Edition Crimson Fists and now I am returning to Sons of Dorn with Exorcists. 7th edtion to current I have been playing Raptors and last few editions GW kept kicking my army down the curb. All Scout army, Nope can't do it, All Phobos, Nope can't do it. So I was boycotting Space Marines. So as I return to Marines, Exorcists was my go to. While in my Head Cannon Exorcists are not Sons of Dorn but GW say they are so ok.  

 

So the Army will be Terminator Heavy with scouts, some other units, and lots of Librarians

Ahhh looks like you will have a good looking army there, that red is gorgeous. I really enjoyed their write up in Badab and one of those 'mysterious' but very interesting chapters! 

That will make a very cool relic weapon. Will you convert up a Silas Alberec at all? The 3rd company Captain who led them in the Badab campaign?

 

Can't wait to see more.

No plans to do Silas Alberec (currently). Army build plans are for a bulk of the Army to be 5th Company, some 1st company, 10th company, and 12th company.
