Solaria Posted September 13, 2024 Share Posted September 13, 2024 (edited) Greetings! I’ve just returned to the hobby after a number of years away. Have started building a Black Templars force. I’ve got the stuff from the Leviathon Box set and a few extra Black Templars units. Would like to create a fluffy army themed around a crusade into the great rift (as pictured) - lots of Templars and fanatical pilgrims and sisters of battle etc watched over by Ordo Hereticus- is that even possible anymore? There's nothing really preventing your imagined army, which is a very cool project. There might be concerns with how competitive the rules will be with many different parts, but rules come and go, so I wouldn't let that dictate any long term army building projects. I think Codex: Imperial Agents is the way to do it now. Want to do the Blanchitsu style but it’s a bit of a learning curve! here was I have painted so far this week. I’ve only got Templars at present but get Inquisition Ordo Hereticus next. Then who knows?? Definitely thematic as part of chapters of Dorn… I need to get the Imperial Agents Book to see how I can get stuff in. I’m not clear how to begin other Space Marines in so will just use my Templars. I could end up regretting that if I ever follow it through? I did a hard reset of my 40k hobby selling off 22k+ of space marines and various other special edition and collectible stuff last October. Then started a brand new collection of Black Templars. I've had 0 regrets of what I did or choosing to do a new collection of Black Templars, especially with the range refresh which imo GW did the best job of so far compared to the Dark Angels (close), and Blood Angels (not close). I’m waiting on a squad of Crusaders as all the models I have were from Leviathan. The Sisters models are my favourite in the whole range so I will definitely be getting some - and Celestine, just because! I wouldn’t know jeers to start with all that yellow. Expand They’re incredible - so full of character. Can’t wait to start adding some of ‘our’ models to the collection rather than generic from the starter box. I know the Crusader would be more fluffy by I prefer the aesthetic of massive flame cannon!!
