Brother Tyler
While the Bolter & Chainsword now covers the entirety of the Warhammer 40,000 hobby - every game, book, licensed product, etc. set within the Warhammer 40,000 game universe (including the dark days of the Horus Heresy), the site began as a discussion forum for fans of the Adeptus Astartes. The site's mascot is a bespoke Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes named the Legio Bolter & Chainsword, structured around our original function as a discussion forum for Space Marines (you can read more about the Legio Bolter & Chainsword here). Most of the site's imagery and terminology is tied to the Legio Bolter & Chainsword. This includes the site's branding, icons, achievement badges and ranks, user groups, etc. This doesn't mean that other factions/games are second-class citizens. It's just our way of recognizing the site's roots and our traditions. In the past we have had a little fun with other factions, such as the time we changed to The Broadside and Crisis Suit... ...or the Legio Morbidus Death Guard... ...or when we swapped skins with The Waaagh!... (See if you can guess which two were April Fool's jokes) It is always possible that we'll do similar things in the future, and there are other things we have in the works for increasing our faction/game representation. While most members don't readily identify with the [loyalist] Adeptus Astartes, members can always express their affinity for other factions via their Personal Photo, Cover Photo, Signature, About Me page, Display Name, and the Faction entry in their profile.
