My subscription came through today.

Issues 73 and 74 contain 10 units each

20 units total

In combat patrol karks gunners downloadble pdf from warhammer downloads they are listed as 2 squads of 10

I had a heart attack when I read part 1 of 2. No idea why it's printed as that. This post has been hugely accurate.

Probably the magazine is treating them as one big squad of 20?

Morning all!

just in case it helps anyone - you can actually subscribe and cancel the Combat Patrol subscription at any time. You can start from as far back as issue 63 at the moment. And postage is free. You can also add / order the special character ones any time whilst you are a subscriber.

so my path may be to re subscribe at issue 79 for the Sentinel and all of the World Eaters - nab the Ork character pack as well. Particularly tempting as zero paint issues in 12 issues.

you can also ask them to “catch you up” and pay for all issues and get one massive delivery.

I have done this and it leads to some kind of frenzied state of new minis!

Yeah it’s Snikrot I think

Alas the premium kits can’t be added after issue 4 as you have to pay £2 per issue more to get them.

But still v tempting. I definitely don’t need them - but I want them. Heck I only paint the things at the moment and already have the first 5 combat patrols.

Just received my order of issue 73 with the 10 Cadians.

Fortunately it comes with bases after all!

Yes I was still panicking about this for some reason but I've got them and built them and already (messed up and had to strip them and then re) sprayed them. They will be making up a large part of my pledge towards the 1 million model challenge in store currently!

So how much is that going to cost you on the monthly?

$26AU per Issue, I think it was ~$106 per month / 4 Issues, no option for Premium Sub

EDIT: This *IS* the Premium price, the sub-defaulted to that option, so I didn't even realise I'd signed up for Premium. This makes me happy, Conquest didn't do Premium in Oz.

Regular is $22AU per issue vs $26.5 for Premium

Ok, so a 5 dollar difference per issue in the exchange isn't that bad. I've heard your VAT tends to jack up the prices of GW.  So this might be a bigger savings for you then the rest of us.  Nice.

That $4.50 adds up to $405AU over the 90 issues, and the GW retail value for the extra 8 units is $978AU, so yeah, definitely worth the little extra

Throwing out a big and hearty Thank You to whichever glorious and wonderful frater added the link to BuyMagsDirect on the first page; after all this time some dirty scalper got up early (before 8;00 am when I get there every week) and swept my local completely clean of the second part of the Imperial Guard Field Ordnance battery (there's normally 5~6 issues when I get there), leaving only American Car magazines in their wake.

Luckily, I was able to order one from the aforementioned website - so I am no longer boiling with white-hot rage and have calmed to a mere simmering fury.

You'd better believe next week's alarm is being set to 6:30 though

Lunch time walk update - Forbidden Planet Shaftbury Avenue has the heavy weapons team issue on the shelves. Reckon they have maybe 30 issues.

So the question is,... how many heavy weapaons teams is 'normal' in a guard army?.......

They still have quite a few of the field ordenance issues - they were putting more on the shelves as I was there.

Each squad is three teams, you can up to 3 squads in an army of each type (Cadian, which are the ones in the CP, catachan and kreig)

So two more issues should get you all you need.

You can actually get 3 squads out of one box, combined with the plain Cadians from the squads. 3 teams of missile launchers, 3 teams of mortars and 3 teams of a tripod-mounted weapon...

I might have picked up 3 issues and have one spare troop squad with this in mind (and keeping an eye out in case any other squad issues come up to get even more milage out of this and the command squad spares)

It is true and something I am very greatful for as it has been the mainstay of new models for me for some time.
I have never seen them on the shelves in any other shop since the days of Conquest magazine.
FP is usually an ok bet but they do randomly sometimes put issues out a couple of days early so there have been a few issues that have been harder to get.

buymagsdirect and newstand have both been fairly reliable for getting the odd issue I have missed but at a premium for the postage cost.

I just got back into 40K at christmas and found out about Combat Patrol just in time, I got some Cadians so decided to supplement. Picked up 4x75 and 4x77 from forbidden planet, sadly thought I missed out on the shock troop editions but managed to get 3x 74 from a site called warbay.shop last week. They are out of 74s now but may restock.

Hi all, I've been lurking in this thread for a while before finally signing up over the last couple of days. I play both World Eaters and Astra Militarum, so I've been patiently waiting for the current run of issues.

I dropped into Forbidden Planet in Cambridge on Wednesday around lunchtime and unfortunately there was no sign of issue 77 anywhere on the shelves. Lots of the "part X of 2" issues knocking about for a few things, along with a fair few Leagues of Votann and Genestealer Cults issues, though I didn't look at those too closely. My son picked me up a couple of Command Squads and Infantry Squads a few weeks back, but the Heavy Weapons Teams have been nowhere to be found in Cambridge.

Might be worth trying the WHSmith TG Jones on Market Street; they used to stock the previous partwork collections although my experience there was you had to be there on the morning they come out to have a chance at getting them (I don't work in the city centre any more, so no idea if they've been stocking Combat Patrol)

I did drop in there and take a look but with no luck, given the number of other geeky guys walking in and scouting around I think that there was heavy footfall from people looking in forbidden planet and then looking there.
