I'll get back on hold with the post office then...

Not sure if applicable in the US, but every time I've ever had cause to contact Hachette, I did it through their Facebook page and they resolved my issue within a day every time.

I actually stopped buying the magazine from them directly as their customer service was soo bad!! This was back in the days of their first 40k run so quite some time ago and they may have improved since but I would place orders then get nothing for an age. I would chase and be told they didn't have those issues any more so I could be offered a replacement from another range.
I will add that the people I spoke to tried to help but were very much limited in what they could do. Email wasnt always as good.

...and it begged the question of if I hadn't called up were they just never going to contact me either as it had been some time.

I bought the terrain set from them this time around and had no problems this time.

You may also be in luck in that the Votann stuff seems to have stayed in stock in 3rd parties longer than other stuff so there may still be stock out there for them to resolve this with.

I’m just disappointed the sentinel isn’t one issue like the wraithlord. I’d have snapped it up if it was.

If it was I think it would have disappeared off the shelves at a record rate.

As it is I picked up a few at this price and am tempted to grab at least another one as conversion fodder for my Orks

You and everybody else I would imagine, not least the scalpers!

Brothers,

Apologies if the issue I’ll be mentioning are a wee bit out of date - the magazine release schedule here in Europe is somewhat staggered.

Warhammer isn’t particularly accessible where I’m based, and what little is available is often wildly overpriced (~€150 for a Combat Patrol). As a result, most of our acquisitions come through intermediaries, so this magazine has honestly felt like a gift from the Emperor.

I’ve been using the German run of the magazine, along with additional copies from another source, to help build up armies for our local club. It’s effectively become the backbone of our community - even the paints are getting good use during group painting sessions.

We’ve now reached the Aeldari phase via the extra-copy source, and have picked up additional Farseers and Guardians. The Wraithlord and Windrider issues should be available soon.

Originally, the plan was to grab 12 more Windriders to field three 6-man squads, plus another 9-12 to kitbash into Shining Spears (using some Ossiarch bits). However, one of our Brothers who wants to play WH mentioned that in said detachment, Windriders can be taken as Battleline, allowing up to six squads.

Given that, would it be worth pushing for more Windrider issues to aim for a maxed-out Windrider list? Or is that too risky with 11th edition on the horizon and the likelihood of detachment reworks?

Obviously couldn’t say for dead certain, but as GW have said that existing codexes will still be valid for 11th (until new codexes come out of course as per the normal cycle), I feel it is unlikely that this option for army building will go. The wind rider host in some form has been around for a very long time.

Being based in Australia, those prices are roughly equivalent to ours, so I feel the pain.

For me the rule-of-cool ultimately decides what I collect/build/paint. For the windriders I would happily grab the maximum reasonable number, but even if they are able to be fielded as battleline, you're unlikely to want to go all-out on them. The numbers you are talking about seem fine, but not more than that.

Does anyone know the release schedule for the AoS Spearhead magazines....? Specifically when we can expect the plaguebearers?

Apparently, someone asked Hachette Customer Service directly and they replied!

As long as this is correct, this is the order:

1-14 skaven and stormcast

15-31 seraphon and Slaves to darkness

32-49 maggotkin and ossiarch

50-67 cities and soulblight

68-79 syvaneth and gloomspite

80-90 lumineth and idoneth

I've added the dates below (I've got a spreadsheet made up for it)

04/03/26 - 10/06/26 : 1-14 skaven and stormcast

17/06/26 - 07/10/26 : 15-31 seraphon and Slaves to darkness

14/10/26 - 10/02/27 : 32-49 maggotkin and ossiarch

17/02/27 - 16/06/27 : 50-67 cities and soulblight

23/06/27 - 08/09/27 : 68-79 syvaneth and gloomspite

15/09/27 - 24/11/27 : 80-90 lumineth and idoneth

That looks like a lower frequency of paint issues than Combat Patrol. Or is that just my imagination?

Also contains a Medium Shade Brush; between that and it being three paints rather than two, it's one of the only Paint issues put out in any collection by Hachette that actually makes a saving.

If there is any interest in updating this thread with the information for Spearhead, I will do so (purely from the point of view of sourcing cheap kits for kitbashing to 40k to be within the scope of the B&C, of course, suggestions welcome)

Edited by Halandaar

Agreed - a quick summary/release schedule of Spearhead for those who want a bit of kitbashing would be really helpful. There are some nice models /parts in there for a lot of people to play around with.

Daemons are a direct swap into 40k but I am also thinking the Pusgoyle Blightlords might be nice fodder for a Plague Marine mount and I am eyeing up a few other bits for inqisitor conversions or possibly guard parts

Agreed, Stormcast characters are popular as the basis for Inquisitor conversions and I've seen a few Drukhari Grotesques built from Rat Ogors.

From my point of view the Pusgoyle Blightlords will supply some wings for a Death Guard Daemon Prince when they eventually come out.
