Is there a sneaky thing you can do with the cadian sentinel and only by one part once and other part twice to get two?

At a guess, if this is possible, it would be Armoured and unarmoured variants.

It would be the leg sprue to double up on (assuming legs and torso are on seperate sprues).

The hip/waist joint of the sentinel is on the opposite sprue from the legs/cab, so you do need both issues to build the main structure of the model.

Got two copies of Spearhead #20 today, FYI #20 sprue is the actual Carnosaur and #21 the sprue will be the rider, so could just pick up #20 and have the Carnosaur. The Carnosaur is massive and normally like a £58 model. It looks a little like what the Eldar exodites ride just way bigger, could be a cool 40K conversion for some sort of Ork or Eldar beast.

I've had a notification that my Warbay order for Cadians is out for delivery today (a month to the day of ordering/two weeks after the 'preorder' due date!)

They still seem to have some issue of shock troops and command squads (and other stuff if anyone is interested) though they are still limited for these particular issues to one per order. No heavy weapons teams left.

Having a bad experience with recent warbay order. Took ages to send out "preorder" about a 10days after expect date and then they sent a wrong issue, went through the process of mailing it back to receive the proper one but now they've gone dark and I have not received anything back. Had no problems with previous orders they seem to be a bit all over the place atm so be aware.

Could be a supply issue, Australia had to nab additional subs from US stockpile as we bought ALL the subs they had in Oz.

Yea no doubt but they have ignored emails after I sent back the incorrect copy sadly, doubt I will see the correct issue at any point.

Finally got back to me and plan to issue a refund. Hopefully no problems there.

Tottenham Court Road Forbidden Planet has some issues of Combat patrol 85,86,87,88 which are all Khorne Bezerkers all full price, but I feel eventually they will cut them to half price so worth keeping an eye on their website. I picked up some spearhead issues for half price like 5 stormcast eternals for £4.99, 2 paints and a brush issue for £4.99 also.

Having got back into 40k fairly recently, do we think there will be a new wave of Combat Patrol any time soon?

There will be something once the latest AoS magazine ends, if its another version of combat patrol or not is anyone's guess at the moment.

Stereotypically each new Sub has the previous launch box. So Whatever is next will probably be Armageddon in some form.

I would like more of the Combat Patrol setup, with a small piece of a bunch of different factions again.

I think that works out better for everyone (even more so if GW treat combat patrol better as a game mode).

While Imperium offered a lot to Space Marine (and by extension Imperium fans) and Necron players. Nothing for others outside the premium kits.

There's a clear pattern. Hachette launches a new partwork a year after a new 40K edition comes out:

40K 8th Edition - June 2017

Hachette Conquest - August 2018
40K 9th Edition - July 2020
Hachette Imperium - August 2021
40K 10th Edition - June 2023
Hachette Combat Patrol - August 2024
40K 11th Edition - June 2026

So we can expect to see a new collection in August 2027. No reason to doubt it, because these magazines have been extremely good sellers for Hachette.

Whether or not the Combat Patrol/Spearhead format with lots of different featured factions continues is obviously unknown, but we can safely predict that many of the minis from the Armageddon box will be present. IMO I do hope they stick with a multi-faction approach, not only because it feels like it would appeal to more players, but also it reduces the chance of large quantities of duplicate Space Marine kits from one run to the next.

Looking at the Spearhead approach this time (12 complete Spearheads, no extra/unusable units), you could easily do a 40K Combat Patrol run like that without repeating many models from the previous run; Space Marines and Orks both have completely new kits since last time, Emperor's Children, Thousand Sons, Drukhari, Imperial Agents and Tau haven't featured previously, AdMech, Aeldari, Astra Militarum, Tyranids and Sororitas are all substantially different this time around, so even somebody who collected all of Combat Patrol and all of "Hypothetical 2027 Collection" would only have a handful of duplicate units, and only one of those (Parasite of Mortrex) is not really useful.

Speak for yourself, mine has been a massive thorn in my opponents back side since I started using it.

On topic, would like to have another CP style collection with other factions this time, outside of marines and orks since the starter box is always included. Chaos can have the other three cult factions for a nice evil spread.

My only hope is that if they include Custodes that the premium unit is a grav tank.

Worth adding that they do a preview 6-7 months prior to the official launch (where they sell the first four issues in a handful of selected areas), so we’ll likely find out what the contents of the next magazine run will be sometime in January/February 2027

I meant not useful as a duplicate if you already have the one from the previous Combat Patrol collection; out of the factions I suggested above only a handful would have duplicate kits across both collections and most of those are still useful in army building because either they're kits that build multiple unit types (Battle Sisters, Skitarii, Wraithguard) or just generally useful in multiples (Cadian Command Squad). Parasite is the exception in that it's a single-pose kit and you *probably* don't field more than one at a time.

An Armageddon themed release would be good.

Marines and Orks from the boxset

Maybe some faction specific marines and Grey Knights

Chaos/Daemons

Death Korps of Krieg

The Chaos stuff is the only bit that might run the risk there of duplicating with the Combat patrol run

That is assuming that if tyranids are in the next set and they use the Assault Brood CP which even isn't legal in 11th. Currently, the tyranid CP is the Vanderghaust Swarm, the one from the CP magazine/10th starter. They might just not have nids in the next set or use something else.

We'll find out next summer.

Yeah, feel like the next version might be really interesting due to how many of the sorta default kits of each faction have been in the combat patrol one. though we've had plenty of repeats over the 3 so far. maybe they'll go deeper on the marines and orks this time.

Rumours are saying that nids are getting their codex next year either before or after Dark Eldar (which is the slot after Tau, which is supposedly dropping January). If it pans out, we'll be looking at a new combat patrol potentially spring time for the nids to replace their rubbish initial 10th one. Question becomes if its too late for the cut off point for the mag as we normally see the full collection as part of the trial issues in February time. This is also assuming they don't revert back to an Imperium style collection.

Well yes, it is "assuming"; I feel like my post was pretty clearly speculation based on which of the currently available Combat Patrol sets could be included without stepping on the toes of the most recent collection. There's just as much chance it won't use the Combat Patrol/Spearhead format at all.

personally I'd like another of the Imperium style, but replace the Necrons with Orks.

I’d agree - I went in on Combat Patrol, but actually ended up selling the majority of it - I’ve only kept the Marines, Nids, GSC and some of the Guard stuff. When I subbed to Imperium, that gave me almost all of my 3k points worth of Necrons, and I built an Ad Mech Boarding Patrol from it; though I did use some of the Marine stuff, I sold quite a lot of it (and the Sisters) - but it did help me bulk out my Marine army.

For me, whether I’d subscribe to a hypothetical fourth collection from Hachette depends entirely on the contents. If it’s another 9 Combat Patrols, I don’t think I’ll bother.
