Horus Heresy Legion Melee Weapons Upgrade Set

Have they said if they will release a despoiler squad box? 10 Marines plus one sprue of melee weapons plus maybe the min vox/vexhilla sprue? Could it hit one of their favoured price points?

They haven't said but it is possible. Though I think we'd probably have heard by now. Still it would be nice.

Doubt it. When the command squad stuff was previewed, it was explicitly mentioned that they'd sell the sprue separately, or combined with a sprue of MkIII or MkVI.

 

It's a relatively safe bet they won't bundle the two together in this case as that wasn't mentioned.

Unfortunately there's probably not much incentive for GW to bundle this sprue with tacticals. They wouldn't even be able to avoid packing the accessory sprue, as you need it for the nuncio vox and other gubbins. 

 

On the plus side, this sprue gives you enough bits for more than one unit, once you've handed out the various power weapons and things. It does actually provide a lot of really useful stuff, so it's a good sprue in its own terms. I'd have liked a few more one-handed bolters, but it's possible to find those here and there.

Technically they've been in the Jetbike kit, but that's not exactly easy to get hold of (and a lot for just the flamers!)

I am excited for a lot of the items in here. I like the volkite pistols too. I do wish they included an archeotech pistol.

Yeah, i used 4 from the sky-hunters for my white scars to throw in my salamanders inductii, but boy is it annoying that the kits only have 1 per 3 bikes vs 3 volkite serpentas. And Salamanders players tend to not run bikes for flavor or RoW reasons, even though they can be really fun to replace the heavy bolters with dragon's breath heavy flamers.

And flamers are such a stupid weapon to try and fire from a jetbike at 200mph …

They are perfect though for shooting down combat aircraft zipping a few miles over you in the sky with Mach One. Oh wait, that was in another era.

I have barely touched my heresy projects in a long, long time. I am quite tempted to get this as much to rekindle an interest there as to use the spare bits in 40k too

I need this set. Not as much for HH, but for my 40k Blood Angels. I don’t play, so will have a blast using these to outfit a honor guard squad, and a vanguard veteran squad. Also want a smash captain with one of the thunder hammers.

What I expected, and will pay for. I already converted a Despoiler squad for my Alpha Legion, but my BA probably need one, and I do need some more power weapons.
