That guy looks so rad! This darn game! It’s always making me want to play (and pay) more more more more more… eldar, krieg, world eaters, sisters, votan, the list goes on!

That looks so good and faithful to the old sculpts.

Pros

proportions are better

assuming the scale works with the last two releases
plastic

Cons

hoped for more than a single pose option
not a very dynamic pose; he’s got a tactical rock now

pretty conservative design as all of the craft worlds seem to be. Miss the Ynarri design language.

I'm sure I’ll buy it someday.

Ah, right. Saying "Fuegan es en fuego" is in fact, speaking in foreign, which i guess is enough to get the post hidden.

The meaning is "Fuegan is on fire", so it wasn't anything untowards. I was saying I'm digging the mini.

Also, a pun of a kind. I dig those too.

Fantastic update. Perfectly in keeping with the old mini but bringing him slap bang into the 21st century. Should I just give GW my wallet for this release or will I need to sell a kidney too?

Just noticed that they have reversed him.

Never have, and probably never will start an Eldar army, but this guy might just find his way into my shopping cart as a singular painting project. Gorgeous sculpt. Credit where credit is due GW *tips cap*.

I like him. Great new model paying homage to the original.

The little homage to the back banners we all grew up with as normal in our youth is cool too.

Each of the Phoenix Lords (and Drazar) have been hits so I'm not surprised.

I'd actually disagree. Drazhar is great, Jain Zar is mostly good but let down a bit by the hair (GW seems to struggle with sculpting hair as of late) but Maugan Ra is...not so good. I feel they over-flanderized the "grim reaper" elements of his design, and coupled with the overly-dynamic pose and tactical rock, I really prefer the original metal one; it gets the death theme across without whacking you on the head with it, and the pose is more restrained and stoic.

Way back when, I had a little Eldar army simply because I loved him and the Fire Dragon models. Long since sold….

I don't know why, but I really like the fact that he has an ax. I know nothing about this character/older model if he had one but I like the ax

He has an axe because he is a...fire fighter!

Although Imperial propaganda badmouthes him as being a firestarter. Somewhere in the middle might lie the truth.

See, I really like the new Maugan Ra.  The old one is classic, yes, but there's nothing about it that reads as Eldar.  As much as I liked it before, the only thing Eldar-ish about it was the Maugetar obviously being a shuriken weapon.  The new one's bits & bobs, basing, and stance let it read visually as an Eldar model.  I won't say I disliked the new Drazhar, but he didn't read as a special character.  He just looks like a slightly fancy Incubus to me.

This Fuegan, like Jain Zar, is definitely less "re-imagined" like Maugan Ra and more "upscaled old model with better detail."  It's still fantastic though and I might get one eventually.

So much of the Eldar range is so bloody good. If I had the talent, its pretty much the only one I would collect as display pieces.

The Eldar range is definitely one of the most consistently solid lines in the entire 40K range. It being Jes Goodwin's pet faction is a definite help but regardless, there's a lot of really excellent models.

Another wave of quality eldar updates is going to put my plan to do a jetbikes only army next year in serious danger of spiralling out of control. That said, maybe new bike autarch? Pretty please?

Glorious. 11/10 mini.

The only trouble I have is coming up with a colour scheme that feels flamey while still respecting my teal/blues theme of the rest of my army.

Blue and orange sounds like classic Gulf livery!
