Following the release of the 10th edition Codex Supplement, there is no better time to discuss all the units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Where part one will discuss the units from the units found within Codex Supplement: Blood Angels, parts two to four will discuss Codex: Space Marines, part five will be Imperial Armour, and part six will be Legends. Note, this isn't to lament any nerfs, etc, from previous editions; the rules are as they are so try to unlock its potential for those who wish to use them all the same. Similarly, this thread is only for using the option being discussed; it matters not if you feel something is a better choice as such comments aren't constructive to the topic and shall be removed. Without further ado, here's this week's entry: Death Company Captain What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you use an Death Company Captain? To compliment a list, or to build a list around? Which Detachment are you using? What unit is he leading, if any? What delivery options are you using? What deployment options are you using? Karhedron Posted Monday at 05:25 PM Share Posted Monday at 05:25 PM I view the DC Captain as primarily a caddy for some of the Enhancements in the DC Detachment. There is some play in giving DC a 6" Scout move but it is limited by the fact that they cannot hold Objectives unless there is a Chaplain nearby and the combined squad is really too expensive to waste on Actions. Which Detachment are you using? would have to be lost brotherhood to make him work, I just dont see a purpose outside of that. Lemartes and Astorath are both markedly better choices in other lists. What unit is he leading, if any? he can only lead either of the on foot death company units... I actually think hed be fun with the shooty ones. The free heroic intervention would be cool. What delivery options are you using? I wouldn't What deployment options are you using? if he's being used, you should always be using his scout ability to get a unit of foot deathcompany forward early. Are you using an Enhancements here? id probably use the fight on death ability with him, he very much feels like a sacrificial character.
