I'm contemplating converting the new Terminators or Deathwing Knights to have two-handed greatswords (using both hands to grip the hilts). Has anyone seen something like this around or tried similar? Do we think their body and arm proportions are even be suitable for something like? I'm eyeing up with the Stormcast Vanquishers for the swords bits of arms or the Inner Circle Companions which i'd bulk up with cut off bits of the Terminator's arms and greenstuff.

The only official GW Mini i know IS the old Tartaros Preator for Horus Heresy, but His weapon has an extreme long grip

As far back as mid-1st ed, for the Space Hulk expansions, Grey Knight Terminators were all halberdiers:

Brother Knightsword, your vision is well in-line with the original concepts for Terminator armour!

I've seen this chap when googling. It's more of a guandao style polearm rather than a greatsword/claymore, but I'm suspecting that an elongated hilt is going to be how this works.

I used to have a few of the Rogue Trader Grey Knights! Found them in a second hand wargames store back in the early 2000s. Sadly they vanished during moving house a few years later.

The long handles/glaives/etc are because Terminator armor does not facilitate the range of motion for swinging a two-handed sword with both hands on the sword. If you can take that into account with your conversion it should look cool!

The (now retired) Deathwing kit had a two-handed axe with incense burner, and some of the Grey Knight terminators have two hands on their force weapons. I know you want a shorter distance between the hands but I would start by looking at those and seeing if there is any tolerance or ability to fudge it a bit and overcome the problem @phandaal mentions.

And picture precedent from the White Dwarf archive, same vintage as @N1SB’s I believe:

As long as you can man-handle the Termi shoulders and elbows into close enought position, the Companions forearms and hands aren't particularly out of scale. You will however, need to cut the swords between the hands and extend the hilt due to the torso widths not being compatible.

That was the actual one I had in mind, and I think that IS a sword!  I thought I misremembered it.

Heresy DA Knights Cenobium all have two-handed swords, which show a pretty large hilt in comparison to the blade, but don't actually have a model wielding it with both hands.

They're one of the inspirations for this and I had looked at them as a possible source for parts but I'm not a massive fan of resin. I am wanting to recreate something like the plasma caster though to proxy as a small storm shield or storm bolter depending on how I want to run them.
