Well I can't tell hence me saying vibes lol! But we've equally not seen anything that couldn't be on an upgrade sprue for the existing Legionaries similar to how they did Night Lords. Also, the fallen Legionary on the Eldar cover could very much be of the existing Legionary with some upgrade bits look - but no idea if that's close to the overall look we're expecting or just some random unrelated art!

I think that’s a good thing; cross compatibility with existing kits for kit bashing, etc.

It's the exact same style of preview we had for WE and they didn't even get an upgrade sprue, so this is a preview for a full kit whatever it may be, Noise Marines most likely imo.

 

These look great so far and I'm happy for the balance between detail and flat surfaces, god knows too much detail can be not a good pain, just ask thousand sons players how they like all that trim!

These seem to be from the "basic" marines. (Whether those turn out to be the unit that keeps the "Noise Marine" moniker awaits to be seen. Certainly many expect them to get rechristened to EC Legionaries, etc, and for the "Noise Marine" name to be transferred to a new, heavier unit.)

 

Thankfully, for my desires, even if these are no longer called Noise Marines they seem to fit into the classic look.

All of these are based on classic models/art, but I particularly like that the helmet on the right seems to evoke one of the art pieces from the original Index Astartes. Sick.

 

 

All three look absolutely fantastic. Also love that we only had to wait a fortnight between teaser articles - hopefully this cadence continues as I need more. Mooooooooooooore.

My immediate gut reaction to the middle helm was, "thanks I hate it." But that lasted about a second. I actually love it.

 

I hated it because it looks like an off brand space marine helmet... where the proportions and design elements are all slightly wrong. But the things that make it so also make it look great.

 

It looks subtle, sensual, and androgynous. Perhaps I am overthinking it... but its the perfect Slanneshi space marine helmet! I'm a little jelly, almost wish I was an Emperor Children's fan! Haven't seen something in a while that got me excited to paint!

Very nicely spotted. I don't want to get too hopeful but seeing this, alongside the rumours of EC getting basic troopers besides Noise Marines, does mean there's a chance the Noise Marines sport helmets like the one in that picture, which is of course based on Jes Goodwin's concept art. And that, that would make me very happy. Always loved that design. And I agree, hopefully the bi-weekly schedule continues going forward.

Seeing this does make me think they removed the mandibles to make the face easier to paint. I can imagine how annoying it'd be to paint the face speaker and those.

I'm growing increasingly if still tentatively excited after these previews.

 

Nevertheless, I'm not doubting that something may pop-up to drastically hurt the EC's aesthetic, the same way GW mandated the DG's designer to add a bunch of silly tentacles and belly mouths because they "looked too much like space marines."
