Bonehead
I've done a lot of models for my Lost and Damned project this year- and plenty of others too. Had fun cutting anc shutting some new plastic tauros models into the older smaller ones, messed about with a few RT guardsmen, built and painted some tanks. But my favourite of the lot is the humble cultist in centre frame here holding his lasgun with a converted tentacle hand. He just came out really nicely. Can't say why i like him best any more than that, but there it is. Bobby Tentacles is my model of the year. sitnam, Dr_Ruminahui, firestorm40k and 8 others 6 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384768-your-model-of-the-year-2024-edition/page/2/#findComment-6080809 Share on other sites

Terminatorinhell
I think it's this guy tbh. But I've painted a ton this year. My chapter masters, inquisitor Greyfax and a couple others were runners up too. I'm just super pleased with how the canoptek alloy metal colors turned out. nightwing1511
Really pleased with how this Necron came out, even if I'm not going to go ahead with this scheme for the rest. Had planned to strip him when I settled on the right scheme, but I might leave him as a stand alone for now. Lord_Ikka
Hmm. I really didn't have any outstanding models this year, as it was more of a "clean-up" year where I was painting and finishing off armies. Next year is going to be some more individual models I think. Anyway, I'd probably say the 18 Bullgryn I painting for my gaming buddy- my first real time painting for anybody else and they turned out definitely good enough for the table. Probably not the most complicated or interesting paintjob I did, but it meant a lot that my friend trusted me to not screw up his army. sitnam, Chaplain Raeven, Tallarn Commander and 11 others 11 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384768-your-model-of-the-year-2024-edition/page/2/#findComment-6081282 Share on other sites
sitnam
@Bonehead Aren't most of your cultists based off metal minis with some conversion? The work required to convert with metal makes it extra impressive. The color scheme overall is pretty neat too. @Son of Rawl Azazels banner is very well done in particular. I'm sure your friend is very happy. I just can't get over the bullpup sten-bolter . At least it's true to the original @Terminatorinhell I really like the way the axe is done with the Canopyek alloy. I might have to copy that in the future. @nightwing1511 As someone who did a bunch of Necron this year, I appreciate a nice simple scheme. Any reason you didn't keep it? @Lord_Ikka Id be pretty proud to of being asked to do a big part of someone's collection. As you said, it's nothing extra agent, buys it is clean and well done. Wormwoods
I'm working on a year-in-review for my blog, and having some trouble picking my favourite model of the year. I'm pretty happy with my work in 2024, especially my Tau... But if I can only pick one, I may have to go with Captain Cominius of the Sin Eaters 3rd Company from way back in March. Light kitbash, but a paintjob I'm very happy with. Easily the best cloak I've done. Did you intend to make them part of the Thokt dynasty? Always liked the idea of Necrons just blasting themselves with so much radiation that even their tesseract glow turns blue.
