Heya, after reading whitedwarf's Arks of Omen I badly wanted to build a Czagra's Iron warriors army, or well.. not too large, still got a giant pile of votann shame laying around too.

Bought a warpsmith and to connect with the setting threw a son of sanguinus to the floor, not sure if its visible but the victim has some bolter holes on his chest. He's pleading but that is not going to work, the warpsmith had more pesky marines to shoot ofcourse.

Also got a box of terminators to paint, already partially assembled, waiting for a box of havocs cause I want those terminators to look cooler than wielding pistols, cmon!..

And a chaos lord also coming soon in the mail, while partially-assembling a Vex machinator aswell on the side. (but have been busy painting an xmasgrot..squig' this month first)

I'll throw those into this thread when they are done.

Thank you, I do sometimes think the basing is perhaps a bit too empty but then again adding tufts would distract too much from the chemistry.

2mm tufts in a neutral color like beige could work, maybe one or two of them. On the other hand, it also checks out to have Space Marines fighting over something in a barren, lifeless desert wasteland!

For some reason (maybe intended setting, depending on the army ofcourse) I never really feel satisfied after placing tufts heh.

After almost a month I finished my own rendition of Warsmith Czagra as a Chaos lord in Terminator armor.

(Also, rotational vid: https://sendvid.com/pe4i8kuk  )

Hard to convey on a gloss varnished cape' but it sports a silver IW crest (bigger version of what is on his shoulderpad)

Thank you, I always feel like my photographs reduce how well it looks, maybe the light is too hard, ill try some thin cloth over the lamps next time, noticing the rotational video to have the fluctuations again too. The skin was a tad darker but after watching some videos on how other people paint the lighting' of faces I thought to redo it a bit with a lighter hue as the tint was otherwise similar to the helmet on the warpsmith. :)

The lighting is really effective for this model - your use of patches of bright colour combined with the desturated green and blue and the neutral iron and black really give it a horror movie feel to it and make it kind of like some of John Blanche's artwork.   I think he's great.
