Well I am not dead.  Been out of the loop for a bit trying to regain my hobby mojo.

 

Trying to start back small but something that will pick me back up a bit before the Call to Arms starts.  So on that note, vowing something that won't be eligible for that;

 

I, Brother Argent, vow to try to rekindle my passion for this hobby and all it means to me by completing 1x Tau Battlesuit Commander and accompaning Drones by the End of June.

 

I'll get a before pic up tomorrow.

 

 

I am also hoping to get the previous ten Tau Pathfinders finished at some point, just need to base them and maybe wack on a few transfers.

 

But, Commander first.

I'm late starting June as I'm just back off holiday and I'm quite busy this month, so I'm going to restrict myself to 12 Rapiers Tarantulas (LI scale) and finishing off the Veletaris squad.

 

Any extra time I have I will use to build and undercoat models for July

Having shamefully failed to complete my vow for May, I would like to try and finish the 5 assault intercessors, add 5 of the same kind, and a character to lead them, so I have my 5 guys for May, and 6 for June. (See? There's a kind of pattern, here!)

 

I haven't decided which character yet, probably a Chaplain. And I, Bob Fossil, pledge to finish all those before I tackle the CtA, by the end of the month.

Sorry, I don't have a picture yet, because I started working on them already. I'll post a WIP picture when I get home.

I have been putting off my June vow thinking that I would make it line up with Call to Arms. However in the Call to Arm prep I am a bit behind as I only built 16 of the 24 tanks I have vowed for that, additionally I don’t think I will have much painting time in the second half of this month. So my June vow for here is going to be 1 old metal missionary.

 

 

He was one of several I had considered doing for the Boxing Day Bash some years ago (after assembly and undercoating all the options back then I ended up going with the plastic one from Blackstone Fortress, Thaddeus something I think), so this one has been sitting around for a few years waiting for some paint.

Well it may have taken me about five times as long as I intended but I finished my Tau Commander:

 

 

 

Can't really see it in the photos but I even lashed out and tried some water effects on the base.  Probably one of the happiest I've been on a model for ages.  Just noticed the marks on the white on his chest.  Thery weren't intentional, but almost look like battle damage so I might just roll with it.

 

Still, not got anywhere near the productivity I wanted for this month so might have to try to bash out a few quick modesl by the weekend.  Not sure how much luck I will have though.

 

Damned good to get a model finished though.  And one I am really happy with.

My camera does not show it, but the parchment paper bits are a distinct colour and shade from the bone reliquary. Also I suck at making small scale pseudo-writing, so left them blank.
