I, Valkia the Bloody, have finished my vow for October-

today I finished painting 11 Neurogaunts for my Tyranid army.

So I have finished 1 Leviadon Harpy, 4 Ripper Swarms and the 11 Neurogaunts. 

 

I will extend my vow and will also paint a Tyranid Prime in October (I already started):

I finished my extra-vow for October.

Reason for my spur of motivation-

Listening to the audio book "Deathworlder". It was so exciting, I just wanted to know how it ended and spend all the time painting....

 

Here is my Tyranid Prime:

 

And while I was painting the Tyranid, I used the waiting time when paint needed to dry to paint the Mini of the Month, the halfling sniper:

Today I finished up the Wulf Priest which I converted and then forgot on my shelf for 15 years. 

So today he saw the light of day and a coat of paint.

Some useful progress, Imperial Fist Support completed, along with the scatter terrain and (finally) the Sentinel. 

 

Adding some terrain from the plodding along to in flight, but not targeting completion this month, enough to do with the remaining bits.

Finished the eliminators and my october vow

 

Since I'm on vacation, I guess I can vow 10 infiltrators too! Maybe they'll be done in time, and if not I'll finish them next month

Finally started on the TDA units, first up a Grand Master in TDA, model is based in the new Leviathan TDA Captain,

 

 

 

next up, Grand Master Voldus in primaris scale, this took alot of patience and precision to get right, and I do have plans to add detail to both shin armours. The model consists of new legs and rear torso from a DW Knight, everything else is the standard Voldus model trimmed down and out to accomodate the DW Knight pieces.

 

 

 

and here they are together, you can see that Voldus is on par with the TDA Captain / Grand Master (both on 50mm bases),

Vow completed! Honestly thought I wasn't going to make it, but as it turns out getting laid off has a way of freeing up time .

In person the white is a less merging into itself as it is in the photo, but I may still at some point down the line try some panel lying and/or capillary action recess darkening. Also left the shield white as I could not decide on what to do with it.

October was a crazy month for me. I finally landed a new job after looking for over a year and it took a lot out of me getting acclimated to fulltime work again. I pledged a whole squad but ended up with only the sergeant getting done in time. I also decided which traitor legion to play alongside my Iron Hands, and I allocated my pledged squad to that legion: the Night Lords. I haven't done much freehand before but I'm pretty happy with the result given how much effort it took once I finally had time to paint.
