Who knows? I was just offering an explanation. They may have had contact with GW afterwards for what we know. Either way I bet GW aren't happy about this (but not enough to actually sort out their factory/delivery system that creates these errors)

Person who shared it on reddit is a friend of the person who had it arrive in their AoS box for a nurgle character model if I remember correctly from the ops comments. (Followed back from the linked image in the start of this topic)

That's kinda what poxwalkers are. I was thinking either a ranged support or a possessed replacement unit. A 7bound might work.

Wait.

We had Feugen leak because his instructions got put in a box for Kairic Acolytes and now this Deathguard character turned up in a Maggotkin of Nurgle box?

 

I guess that's an improvement, it's the right army theme this time at least.

DG possibly have only this 1 new model during 10th. Their dedicated power armored lord model was absent for years, so it could just be a lord. But a "champion duelist" unit would also be welcomed.

 

Well, fortunately, at least this is not anything "pesti-gor"…

Pestigors haven't even made their way back into AoS yet.

That's what Maggotkin of Nurgle are expecting to be their release for 4th edition.

Poxwalkers are GW´s clumsy attempt to put their IP stamp on zombies in the 40K setting. I used the zombies from the ZOMBIES!!! boardgame. They are way cheaper and more numerous (100 zombies for 10 Euros).

Seeing the assembled images, it finally looks like the leak isn't subversive marketing from Games Workshop.

 

I always think, when I see the potato camera images, or some vague unassembled models, that it's just a marketing operation that creates buzz with a minimal investment of resources.
