This miniature comes with a choice of two head options, so you can depict them either wearing a sinister mask or with their hybrid mutations in full view.

Both models will be available for the first time at AdeptiCon 2025 from the 26th of March, and can then be found at other Warhammer events throughout the year.

See I much prefer reposes of already existing mini for this type of deal. Makes it a not-feel bad moment for those that can't get it (or don't want to pay through the nose on the 2nd hand market)

I dunno, I think he looks cool. If I was doing cult army I would get him jusst to have a different pose and all

I can't figure out that carapace color in non gw colors.

Having the event exclusive model be something already available is a good thing, better than having a unit or load out unavailable to most people, and a Primus or Magus for GSC is a great choice but the model isn't too thrilling. It doesn't really speak of "event exclusive". If you collect GSC and you're already going to an event it seems like a good buy but it doesn't strike me as something anyone else will be trying to get a hold of or incentivised  to attend an event in the hope of picking one up.

well it won't make me attend an event, there are none near me. but I am tempted to buy it

I’m torn on this. As a GSC player it’s really nice to see the army get a model, and it is a bit better sculpt that the OG Primus(IMO)

But being so similar to the original is a wasted opportunity. They could have done simple gender-swap, or a longer, trenchier coat.

hey what colors do you use on the carapace?

I like the Primus, and I want one, but I'm not leaving my country or even my province to get one. Does anyone know if there are events in Canada?

I'm close enough to Toronto that I'd consider a trip, but that's about the only place I could get to that might have an event where one would be available.

This is another reason I think an emphasis on tournament play is misplaced. It's great for people who live in places where tournaments happen, but there are far more of us who live in places where they don't happen than there are that do, so why make such a gigantic deal of the tournament scene?

there are some but I don't know what is considered official or not. They mention Adepticon which isn't run by GW? so I don't know.

Huh, a repose of the already existing mini... That's not great tbh.

I feel like they've been doing this a lot recently. The Votann Einhyr Champion from 2022, the Kroot and Commissar last year, even the Genestealer this year. Reposes with slight changes to the extent they don't feel overly special compared to just the ordinary miniature.

I personally loved the recent Commissar event miniature, although nothings ever going to beat the Gamesday commissar. No not the 1998 one. The  2009 death korps deathrider commissar. Let’s try and forget the 1998 one ever happened.

I think if a model released under "difficult to acquire" category, it should have more extraordinary pose and design.

It's a hard thing to balance, you go that way and you'll find many complaints from people who do want it but can't get due to no events around them. Like here in the UK, where we certainly get far less events (want to say that Warhammer World's events may be the only place here to get it). That's why I think reposing existing characters is the best of both worlds as then it's cool if you can get it, but no big loss if you can't.

Said the same about the WHW Exclusive Warsmith, but I think a variation on a generally available design is exactly the sort of thing event exclusive models should be. If they're only cosmetic, nobody is "punished" in their list-building for not being able to get them, which has not always been the case in the past. We've has models with exclusive loadouts like the 2018 PF/Plasma Primaris Captain (appreciate this was subsequently solved in a proper kit) or Chaplain Tarentus, or models with no general-release equivalent at all like Inquisitor Cartavolnus. Not being able to easily buy the only model with a specific loadout is bad, cosmetic variations is not.
