Not on general sale, but they've occasionally had them for special events.

As a Votann enjoyer, I appreciated having a reposed Kahl and reposed Champion for our two special models, even when the range is so small right now. I actually use the special Kahl in almost every game with my Votann.

 

Did a little converting on him and now he is one of my favorite character models:

It's kinda crazy to see people mad it's not more exclusive or bespoke. Feels like that's been a huge gripe in the community for a while and now that they've figured it out people are now mad about the inverse.

 

I would think "Alternate art" like these sculpts would be best of all worlds; obviously we all want a lot more availability for everything but having exclusives can drive sales and engagement so everyone gets why companies do it, and this way no one misses out on an army entry just cuz they couldn't afford tickets to a convention.

this is more or less how I see it. alternate art or mini or whatever. I don't need it to be more rare or super rare. just happy to have another pose for a mini that I think looks good.

heck I would LOVE any alternate for custodes.

As others have said, I’m glad it’s not super special , I won’t miss it as it’s probably impossible to get. 
what I am curious about is has anyone seriously thought to convert up a whole army of skaven to look like chaos marines and use them for 40k …

I've seen quite a few really awesome Skaven to IG with the new sculpts.

Space Rats are shockingly very rules agnostic. I saw a guy many moons ago use them for his Eldar/Dark Eldar armies and it was glorious. Really wish he posted his stuff online.

Yeah with a total conversion like that I think playing whatever rules you want makes a lot of sense.  Would easily see GSC or even Votaan depending on how you modelled them.

 

I also saw some sweet Votaan/Lizardmen mashups that are straight awesome.

Funny enough one of the youtubbers i watch talked about that yesterday. I guess I agree that there should be alternate sculpts easily available for the broodcoven models outside of the boxset.
