Quote

The forges of Mars were highly prized during the Horus Heresy – a weapons factory on the doorstep of Terra was both a tempting target for Traitors and a point of concern for those defending the seat of the Emperor’s power. Many Tech Priests broke the strictures of the Cult Mechanicum and engaged in profane tech-heresy, but the zealous worshipers of the Machine God are not without their ranks of judges and accusers, such as the Arcuitor Magisterium.

Magi and high nobles of the Cult Mechanicum who demonstrate a particularly inflexible approach to the dogma of the Omnissiah are most likely to be elevated to the status of Arcuitor. These individuals tend to be ancient beyond belief, augmented to the point of inhumanity as part of their never-ending quest to become as close to the perfect Machine God they worship.

Though they are not deployed by the Prefecture Magisterium in an official capacity, their cachet and notoriety allow them to call on great resources when pursuing their zealous agenda, enough even to mount their own personal crusades against those they believe to have transgressed into tech-heresy.

Hunting down Dark Mechanicum operatives and renegade Tech-Priests is busy work even for someone with a technologically enhanced brain and a surfeit of mechanical limbs, and so it is not uncommon for an Arcuitor to be attended by a scribe to aid them in their duty.

The Arcuitor Magisterium is made from Forge World resin and has rules in the Liber Mechanicum – Forces of the Omnissiah Army Book, where she can make use of her influence to bring along a Maniple of Arlatax Battle-automata or Vorax Battle-automata without taking up a Force Organisation slot.

Thats awesome!

I can't recall seeing a female Magos before, much less one that made me think of Koriel Zeth!

Although the real highlight might be the Quill Minion!

Love it. I have no idea why we're suddenly getting a load of non-essential Mechanicum models. But I'll take it.

I think it's because the plastic Mechanicum stuff started coming out only a couple of months ago and Solar Auxilia don't have any individualistic models to release in resin.

On another note, it's been pointed out elsewhere she's seems to be at least partly based on this Blanche piece:

Delightful little model. Nice to see that the Mechanicum from last week wasn't a one-off, I wonder what else might be coming down the pipe?

Still hilarious that these weren't released alongside the book, although having said that I don't think any of the Marine special characters in there have appeared yet?

Getting an arcuitor model -> great

It comes with its own doomed little servitor -> greater (Can we call him Renfield, or even better Igor?)

But, it(she) looks like being taken out of Cyberpunk... I am less convinced bu it that, let´s say, by the Axiarch or the Heretek.

I find it fits curiously with the aesthetic of the rest of the Mechanicus (30k) and Mechanicum (40k) ranges... It is not that I do not like the model, but at first sight I thought it was a Necromunda model for some allied of House Escher...

For me its a ok. Small o; small k.

Love it. It feel like it fills a bit of an aesthetic gap in the way the Mechanicum are sometimes described in the novels and art vs what's actually been available for them.

From the description in the article am I right in thinking they're loyalist only? Would be a shame, but I'll find a way to work the model in somewhere I'm sure.

Also #everymodelisanecromundamodel

Yeah from the Mars book there are still all the special characters outstanding. What is funny is this is actually from the Mechanicum Index, as was last weeks Skitarii dude. Hopefully they keep rounding out stuff from that book *cough Arlatax cough*.

Perfect opportunity to use that new Blanche line of colors from The Army Painter!
