I have a bit of a soft spot for the bastion as I had (should still have somewhere!) the old card stock/bulkhead version but i don't think I'd buy these now though as i feel there are nicer sets out there (and I 'probably' have enough terrain now....). I like the wall of martyrs stuff but if doesnt match my existing terrain themes at all so short of going all in on a new board setup I'll pass on these.

 

The one thing I would buy more of, I keep saying it, Pipes!

 

I only ever got the one set of plasma pipes fairly early on but since then I have amassed a fair amount of mechanicus terrain from various sets  and want these to add variety/connect things up

I ran a school club around 2008/9 time and picked up bastions for around 15 quid/ 30CAD each, I know inflation is a thing but ouch.

This is a definite improvement! One could also simply paint the corpses bronze, like they were cast on to the wall as a memorial tribute. Given that it’s 40K I can’t imagine many martyrs leaving corpses behind to begin with, between bolt rounds pulping them, plasma incinerating them, rippers reclaiming them, hungry squigs chomping them, and whatever the warp Dark Eldar get up to with them. Shudder.

$65 for the bastion, $60 for the defense line, and $52 for the emplacement and the bunker (USD) are better than I was expecting honestly. I may actually pick one or two of them up at that price.

Too rich for me. I was happy with the last lot of made to order terrain but these just don't have enough value for me.

Shame. They're nice kits.

Same here. They're very good-looking kits but I just can't justify buying them at that price point. Maybe the Imperial Bastion if I have some money left over after bills.

 

Would still love to see the Sororitas Battle Sanctum come back MTO, though. That one I would be willing to splurge on.

... and it was generally available so it was possible to get discounts for 20-25% off at 3rd parties!

 

I did nearly buy that at one point but it was at a time where I had very little storage space and also didnt really value terrain in and of itself.

Just a word of warning from my own experience, if you want to put the bunker in the defense line without a very noticable gap, do not glue the provided steps at the doors of the bunker.
