These painted up SO nicely. They were built and on the desk for months, I might have even vowed them in the Call to Arms, but I just didn't have a paint scheme that I was excited about. Spent some time googling the other night and saw some painted in 30k TSons colours and instantly knew that was the way to go. Funniest moment: when they were still a WIP, the white stripes on the chest were so bright that they looked like a pair of jolly sailor boys, so I had to glaze some grime on to bring them back into looking like old statues.

Airbrushed with Pro Acryl Rich Gold all over, AP Fanatic Cobalt Metal for the silver, generous doses of Druchii Violet and Agrax Earth Shade all over the metal. A little bit of colour work, then highlighted with Pro Acryl Bright Gold and AP Fnatic Plate Mail. Done, dusted, four hours of paintbrush time and an absolute blast to paint from start to finish.

Two more projects done!

Krieg Artillery Team

This model was an exercise in edge highlighting and judicious use of Agrax Earthshade. I used the same Space Wolves colours for the gun and the coats, so it was fun to use the wash and shading on the dudes themselves to delineate the difference between the two materials.

And a Bloat Drone

Whew! Look at how awesome that "face" on the Bloat Drone turned out! Isn't he just hideous?! Feels good to get some bigger models under the belt this year. Got a whooooole lot of infantry in the queue....

Basecoated with AP Wild Green and zenithal'd with Vallejo Bile Green (which is the secret sauce for all my Nurgle models)

Loving your Krieg Artillery team!

Are there more Death Korps in the pipeline?

Thanks!

I'll definitely be painting more Krieg, I absolutely adore the models and lore, but I'm not sure when I'll pick any up. My 40k backlog is the remnants of last summer's TSons and DG battleforces and I've challenged myself to finish (or get close) before I buy any more Warhammer.

I look forward to seeing you get through that backlog, both because I want to see what you do with those chaos models, and because I'm eager to see more of your blue krieg - that artillery piece is ace.

BTW, the "face", lenses and tentacles on the bloat drone are all excellent, and are a great contrast and point of interest from that violently bright green.

Another squad of Scarab Occult Terminators done! This time I used a bit of magenta around the gold trim to give a bit of an occlusion shadow. It's a nice little detail that gives them a bit more pop. I continue to try and push my highlights and shading on armour panels as bright as I can. I really hate painting weapons (except flamers, those are frikkin sweet ).

Next up is the CTA, where I'm planning to focus on Kriegers. Chaos might get a small vow for the sake of variety and finishing off the remnants of the battleforce boxes.
