According to the latest WD Link Harlequins are getting a new combat Patrol. It appears to contain the following:

 

Skyweavers

Shadowseer

2x troupe

Starweaver

Haven't there been rumours for ages Harleys might get a new unit?

The faction feels like its been on life support for ages.

Now its a footnote in someone else's book.

 

Honestly its quite odd they are getting a combat patrol.

Don't forget that combat patrol in white dwarf does not mean a combat patrol set. It could just be there to add to the range. I think the Knights one last month are like that as an easy way to give some love to the mode without anything new.

WD combat patrol at this stage, over halfway through the lifespan of this edition seems pretty clear that they won't get an official combat patrol box, as they haven't in other editions. 

 

I think harlies are suffering the consequences of being top tier [broken] for 2.5 editions of the game. GW also seems to be unsure on what to do with these smaller add-ons like deathwatch.

They are Aeldari, they are in the Aeldari book. So less someone else's book than Kroot in tau or Sisters of silence in Custodes and more like Beastsnaggas in Orks or Destroyer cults in Necron.  But indeed its weird that GW goes to all the effort to make an Aeldari book instead of Craftworlds/Asuryani, only to do a keyword 180 in the rules themselves ignoring the name on the cover.
But its exactly those things white dwarf combat patrols are for I think.

 

As for rumors, I have read here on B&C in 8th edition time ( around GSC 8th edition release ) that there where supposed to be more Harlequins releases not released due to sales, but I have not found the source of that. I wouldnt be too suprised if all it was was a rumor growing from a reliable rumor that referenced Kyganil... Although it wouldnt be the first time something is in the backlog for a long time. But I personally think from the design pov, Harlequins where just an update of them as part of the Eldar and Dark eldar codexes, further shown in the two studio paintjobs respectively complimenting the Eldar studio paintjob ( with the Starweaver as Eldar had no venom.) and the Dark Eldar studio paintjob ( with the Voidweaver as Dark Eldar had no vyper.) and then rules/marketing team rolled with it and seperated them from those, they did the same with Tempestus scions at the time.

 

Then in 9th edition came the rumor of a Harlequins kill team, from multiple sources so people took it as reliable... however, the actual reliable ones predate the White dwarf kill team and where very likely referencing that one as far as I remember.
There was also one, after the white dwarf kill team I believe, that came from "someone high on top in GW" ( not really, but thats what the anonymous person on 4chan claimed he was, so it must be true.) that there was a new unit of harlequin mimes coming for kill team, but afaik that was a whole list of wrong rumors quickly disproven. ( I had screenshotted this one but I cant find it.)

 

However all 3 got coalesced into one single "reliable" rumor since then. repeated over and over.
Without links or screenshot evidence to show, thats as much a rumor as well though
