  1. I’ve been working in the Webway as of late and wanted to share. Here is the humble start of a growing force of players, nearly ready to descend onto the stage. The force itself is second hand with a repaint. I’ll be going for table top quality. More to come. https://content.invisioncic.com/r243181/monthly_2018_05/9925746B-843F-4877-8707-CB8A2B409C02.jpeg.644c6bf8c195bd4296314d319683b3c2.jpeg https://content.invisioncic.com/r243181/monthly_2018_05/03C4A429-D5AA-44BB-8976-BC78DA308659.jpeg.ec82ab8654c677dcfebeb74ecd398682.jpeg https://content.invisioncic.com/r243181/monthly_2019_02/BA59FD53-C428-4F6F-843C-E1883206CFC5.jpeg.9ee43c16d5791a04c7d1855ce0d8c5b8.jpeg
  2. So I've managed to acquire a small force of Harlequins as an ebay purchase and completely skipped the whole painting stage which I hate anyway. So without further ado here's my little squad
  3. I'm looking at starting a new side project based around windriders, farseer/warlock skyrunners and harlequins. I was thinking something along the lines of a harlequins battalion of a shadowseer and troupe master as the hqs. 3 5 player troupes as the troops, a solitare then around 8 or so skyweavers with haywire cannons, rounded off with 2 voidweavers with haywire and 2 shuriken cannons each. This totals just short of 1200 points. Have I wasted points here, have I been sensible or should I even increase what is in the main battalion? For the craftworld I was thinking siam hann (although this probably depends on if I use scatter lasers or shuriken cannons on the jet bikes). I'm not entierly sure on how to arrange the detachments. At least one farseer skyrunner if not two probably 1 or 2 warlocks on bikes. I was thinking either 2 units of 6 windriders or 3 units of 4, I can't decide on scatter lasers or shriken cannons. Finally depending on exactly how many points left there might be room for a unit of shinning spears. Any comments would be appreciated. :) EDIT biel tan looks interesting with reroll ones with shuriken weapons
  4. So I've really got the bug to join in with the great performance of the harlequins and I've fallen in love with the Dreaming Shadow masque. And this afternoon I've started a test model in the Dreaming Shadow colours. i've only done one coat so far and not finished the whole model but this is where I am in the act so far. I'm going to give her another coat tomorrow and hopefully finish her. if I'm honest it was quite difficult to paint but felyt easier cos it was smaller.
  5. I had an interesting idea. What if there was a Harlequin troupe which, rather than warning of the dangers of the Great Enemy from the perspective of the Aeldari, they acted examples from the history of the Imperium, such as the fall of Magnus the Red and the Horus Heresy in general? Could be interesting, I think. Edit: Weird key command that I somehow triggered accidentally, had to finish up the post.
  6. It all started as so many of these things do: a simple challenge in an online forum to paint up a kill team in the colors of a chapter from the Badab War. Figuring it would only be five or six models I figured I'd dig up some old metal veterans models and give the old yellow and checkerboard a shot. If nothing else it was an excuse to try and put my own spin on the GW red period I started the hobby in. It turns out that while things went well (I won the challenge!), I'd opened a door that I couldn't easily close. Yellow paint was refined, I can paint checkers in my sleep now, and I have a small force and growing of the finest yellow Chapter of Astartes in all of Warhammerdom. They're also the unluckiest which, thankfully, is staying on the battlefield at the moment, mostly in Kill Team until I have a solid 40k force painted. That leads me to this little plog. I have far too much time on my hands currently, and I'm trying to treat painting as a way to have consistency day to day. I'm hoping it also serves another purpose: I'm running out of projects that are calling to me, and being primarily a Guard player wouldn't mind advice on what to add to the army from my giant model backlog first. I'm also open to painting stuff just because people want to see it so, if you have any requests, please make them! If I have the means I may very likely fulfill it. For now, some of the troops so far… Barely Modified Space Marine Heroes An HQ Triumvirate Angelic Reavers Assorted Scout Conversations The RH1N0 who will probably accumulate markings until it's far too busy... Pictures aren't all the greatest as I'm still working out a light box area, but I hope some of you enjoy them.
  7. Greetings All, So have many people come across fighting Harlequins in KT yet, I myself haven't yet but we have a player that loves them and after reading them they seem so what hard to take down with 4++ save, no falling damage and a charge on 3D6 with choosing 18" enemy model instead of 12", 8" move Your looking at around 8-9 models per KT, they can get in your face pretty quick and make short work of your best models using the Harlequin's Embrace and Caress. What have you guys and girls come across Cheers
  8. Hello. I haven't posted in this subforum for a very long time. I think the last time was before 2005. I usually just post pictures of my Orks, work in progress, in my ongoing thread. (In the Orks subforum.) Recently I've started collecting er.. probably finished collecting harlequins. That is I now have an army with lots of models to paint. I started to paint the few I already had about a week ago. I'm waiting for the bases I ordered for them to arrive. I'm painting roughly 1 and a half mini's a day. It's slow going but rewarding. Have a look and tell me what you think. This last one. For some reason is sideways. but it shouldn't be. I have no idea what's causing that. Jokes on me? Thanks for looking.
  9. https://youtu.be/h_MhqwkCDfo How NOT to run Harlequins! Cheers, Thoth
  10. With the Sword called Word, I Kill the Silence Let us tell a story about the storytellers Let the letters dance their way from mind to eyes to mind again Harlequins where for me the too good to be real army in 40k, second to none Unfortunately I started in 3rd, so no rules, only a distant legend (and I was too into Tyranids) Then I discovered the awesome 40k BG, with the eldars... and the marvelous clowns! I was always intrigued by jesters, and being italian, with masks and Arlecchino, witch I researched as a figure both tragic and comic, existed in history centuries before the "Commedia dell'Arte" Then a Withe Dwarf minicodex came, and I managed to get an army started with some 3rd edition dark eldar converted and awfully painted...then they become a Pro Elf Bloodbowl team I got the new models when they returned as Eldar allies, but they rested unpainted on their box for a loong time Then, finally the Codex arrived! I managed to get some plastic ones, the old converted ones and the metal ones all together in an army that i will patiently paint in time, and that I have used with profit in difficult battles to my greatest pride. Pics of the better soon But for now I left the center of the stage To you Because I Know well not to be the Only One
