StrangerOrders
Is... is... that an insane survivalist renegade Blood Angel? Also, wow, no disrespect to the artist but the actual model has so much more character and relevance to the fluff in the article, that feels kind of unusual. Yeah seems so - the blood drop and Roman 9 on the scabbard would have to be deliberate, and that's not even mentioning the thirst for Blood and his bits of armour Edited March 10 by Cyrox Alby the Slayer, LSM and ThaneOfTas 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385462-vandoth-the-fallen/#findComment-6099110 Share on other sites
LSM
Feels like the artist wanted to maintain a bit of subtle "he could be/maybe he's not". The sculptor then leaned further into the "he is" while leaving a bit of room for "maybe not". The painter then put 9th Legion markings on him. Robbienw
Its the Blood Angel from the old Confrontation artwork. Many years down the line, a bit more ragged. Rain
Just a coincidence that the Blood Angels were the psychotic cannibal “Revenant Legion” before Sanguinius, and this guy has a IX marking and what looks like blood dripping from his mouth in the paint job. Nephaston
With a name like that he'd be liable to draw attention from another first founding chapter. Good thing Necromunda is Imperial Fist turf, otherwise it might get erased from the setting to hunt a guy that isn't even an actual Fallen. Cleon
I mean obviously he's from squad 9 of the Blood Drinkers 3rd company isn't it. Nothing to see here. I mean it's probably a Blood Angel, but I have questions such as the very Mk 9 round bits on his knee. It'd be cooler for me if he was from one of the censured offshoot chapters, make the universe bigger by not rolling everything back to the main chapters. m0nolith
Been waiting for a model for this guy for years. Always liked the lore where the fact he’s a BA was alluded to. Now that lore is pretty well blatant, which I love! In any case, we officially have playable Space Marines in Necro! Casual Heresy
Love the idea of a lost, blood mad Blood Angel running around the underhive, and the model looks pretty good. As others have stated, his boltgun and the faded iconography look a bit more legion-y than chapter-y. The armour looks a bit like field-repaired Astartes plate, but it looks lighter and nothing like a MkX variant. Could this be the first hint a how Recon Marines could look like in a new kit? roryokane 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385462-vandoth-the-fallen/#findComment-6099142 Share on other sites
FoursCompany
Came here for the discussion of him being a surviving Thunder Warrior…but I missed the IX markings on the knife. Disappointed…was hoping Necromunda would continue the parade of Imperial Weirdos with a possible Thunder Warrior who somehow survived for untold millennia. Inquisitor_Lensoven
Something about the description reminds me of the winged blood angel from the pariah series. A secret ‘underground’ blood angel living just beneath the noses of imperial citizens. grailkeeper 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385462-vandoth-the-fallen/#findComment-6099187 Share on other sites
Doghouse
I really like this guy, I did something similar years ago with a Venator. I do like that the armour looks quite a bit like the Advanced Space Crusade scouts armour to a certain degree. grailkeeper
For what it's worth Necromunda was always an Imperial fist recruiting planet in the lore and I think they had a permanent embassy of some kind there. In the old old necromunda novels there was a chapter brought in by an inquisitor to deal with a mind control enemy. I don't remember their name but their symbols were all taken from playing cards. Blindhamster
I really like this model, its interesting though, in that he's rather different from his art. The Art doesn't really look at all like a marine. The model looks like he couldn't be anything but... As a massive blood angels fan, I'm sold. Rule wise, im interested in that, he doesn't seem all that impressive for an ancient vampire, but Ive not played necromunda in years to really know one way or another. I do recall having a gang leader that was stronger and tougher after some advances back when I played long ago, and this chap wont advance right? Also interested in relative size to other models! roryokane 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385462-vandoth-the-fallen/#findComment-6099196 Share on other sites

Aramis K
I thought it was Scout armour rather than full marine - it doesn't exactly match but the round knees, boots, and curved shoulder, chest piece without arms or backpack. Regardless, really cool model and great character design. Timberley
It looks blooming gorgeous! As @StrangerOrders said - much better than the artwork! Another SGS win in my book. As to his background, I wonder if he was part of a squad of Blood Angels Scouts that was involved in repelling the Ork invasion of Necromunda (the war that led to the creation of The Skull) centuries ago and was separated from them either by circumstance or they got killed. It'd explain why he's running around with Carapace Armour big enough to fit him and not power armour. It'd also explain why he's got an old bolter (standard Godwyn looking at the picture) and survival kit. Alby the Slayer
It will be cool to see a 360° of the model, I wonder if its power pack is hidden behind that classic sac or backpack and how is the model from behind.
