That would be awesome. Side note, you know what would be good for SM3 is it they did a reverse on the usual "Xenos then surprise Chaos" plot. Have you start out against a Chaos warband (World Eaters?) then have the twist 'true foe" be Necrons annoyed at Titus for messing with their anti-warp tech. "If I flip the pylons the Necrons will flip out!" 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385490-space-marine-3-is-officially-in-development/page/4/#findComment-6190504 Share on other sites
Marshal Reinhard
With each aesthetics update, Ive been getting closer and closer to making a proper sword brother look. I'm basically almost there now. Can have flappy bits both in the front and back. Now if they'd just let me recolor some of the champion bits more freely... Kommisar_K
Haha I only just caught up with this thread. Looks like my rambles went a bit further than expected.* @rookie40K you're definitely making sense, and a few of the recent updates (including the appearance of more capes & whatnot already mentioned) are making it look more like Captain-again Titus can remain the protagonist in his latest form. As I said in my original post, I hadn't really done my homework at the time, so a lot of what I said was formed from basic impressions of the general movement of Titus' story and how GW is using him. Admittedly, having done some more research and watched recent developments, my opinion from then is looking outdated. By the way, I was thinking if they did change the protagonist it'd probably be another ultra, maybe a subordinate of Titus or another popular chapter... lol. Just clearing that up. So yeah. From a lore standpoint it might be a little awkward but not insurmountably so. As a number of people have said it could make an interesting story and Titus being a Captain hasn't stopped them using him before. And techwise it's looking a lot more plausible. *We need a cry-laughing emoji on the B&C Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385490-space-marine-3-is-officially-in-development/page/4/#findComment-6190554 Share on other sites
TheWarmaster
They HAVE to have full customisation for Traitors as well as Loyalists this time. That is an absolute must and it’s the thing most sorely lacking in SM2. Also kill streaks could be fun. Like Auspex sweeps, calling in artillery strikes, or respawning as a Terminator. Being able to summon a wave of guardsmen for loyalists, or daemons for traitors. Also, a bigger battle option with vehicles. Like Eternal Crusade used to have.. maybe. They should give chaos its own game at somepoint aswell. These hero stories are getting kinda overused and sometimes it´s fun to play as bad guys, not just in PvP or hastily put together siege mode for basically no proper rewards. Bigger battles would warrant whole new game instead of it being slapped on space marine story game title. Other game franchises have been able to implement bigger maps/player numbers in their multiplayer side quite well. All they’d have to do is develop more multiplayer options. They aren’t locked into small squad based PvP games. You could easily have a single player story campaign, traditional PvP matches, coop PvE style modes, and bigger battles with vehicles, and even a battle royale style mode if they wanted to.. Loads of games have all of these modes, and more, in their offerings. Carach
19 hours ago, Jukkiz said: They should give chaos its own game at somepoint aswell. I was thinking this the other day when I loaded up SM2 for the first time in a while. "Wouldn't it be kind of fun to just be like, the Night Lords or Iron Warriors, just doing some debauchery with some dry wit and sarcasm" It would be refreshing for story-lines and opens up some alternative gameplay (e.g getting more daemonic traits as you progress) Of course, there is also the potential of revisiting Fire Warrior, if we want to get away from the big dudes in metal suits somewhat (would be a different game to SM2 though) Edited October 7 by Carach Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385490-space-marine-3-is-officially-in-development/page/4/#findComment-6190775 Share on other sites
Adeptekon
I hope they improve on the colors, some of the colors for the armor in SM2, look like a wash.
