I'm going to have put my "Take this with a pinch of salt" hat on as we have to remember that the events of Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Bequin are set several hundred years before the current events of 40k. Pariah is set in roughly 500.M41. GW has generally been relatively careful since they retconned the Dark Imperium books to avoid doing things that break existing continuity, so I expect that anything they do in Pandemonium won't be truly huge and earthshattering because that would then mess up all the existing lore that we know happens afterwards.

I agree with your general point, however i had thought that Pariah was set closer to 700-800.M41?

edit: nope, you were right, shortly after 500 does seem pretty well spot on

In the video, one of the theories Valrak comes up with is that it's more important to the lore of the show then the actual setting (basically the premise being that they're adapting Eisenhorn and the rest and don't necessarily want the last book to come out before the series does)

Other than that, he also pointed out that being in a pocket space, that if Abnett really, really wanted to, he come have the characters exit it and it turns out they they're now in the Era Indomitus.

Long and the short of it, no one knows nothing other than Dan. Would he really tell though?

Been waiting a long time for this book.

Me too, so I’ll be pretty annoyed if valrak’s speculation of 13th edition release time frame is true. It’s already been 10+ years since pariah another 6-8 would be absolutely ridiculous

That is entirely possible

A fan who spoke with Abnett at his recent Maidstone book signing claimed he (Abnett) said he had literally just finished his latest novel.  If we assume he was referring to Pandemonium, how long does it take to process?  Six months?  Longer?  It could indeed be held up until the next edition is due.

It's been indicated that the latest Novel isn't actually Pandemonium, with that one been sorted for a little while. This other book might not even be 40k related.

=][= In accordance with the NRBA rules, please can you add some kind of description of the nature of the video and lore changes in the initial post. The rules suggest:

  • a brief summary or introduction should be posted along with a link to the original site.
  • The brief summary/introduction should be sufficient to provide a decent understanding of the original content and (hopefully) create interest, while the link ensures that the original site remains the main provider of the content.
  • There should be sufficient information to provide hobbyists with a basic idea of where the link [video] leads and the content it will provide" =][=

Edit:

Thanks for adding the info

We waited 9 years between Pariah and Penitent.

I will be shocked if they don’t end up in current timeline.  As soon as it was revealed who they thought the Yellow King was I just assumed they would.

We also know who Henry Cavill’s favorite character is so it is at least possible the delay is related to the show.  Sorry for the dancing around spoilers.

The realspace timeline setting for the Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Bequin series isn’t an issue. Time flows differently in the Warp. Ask those Traitor Astartes fighting the long war. The Horus Heresy wasn’t so long ago for many of them!

Just saying!
