In a good update.  I managed to push through all 18 models.  Before work all that is left is to paint the rims of the bases.  Add the blue flowers, the other extras will have to wait.  Like the lazer cut flowers, decals and stuff like that.  With any luck, I'll have time to also, add a quick blue white highlight to things.  Thats going to be done in a priority order.  The LKs as they're always in any list i want to make.  Then all the plasma weapons and any guy toting a grenade bomb thing as I also painted those neon pink.  Then the EL, and then finally 5 tormentors, 5 infractors and the last 5 tormentors.  As, 5 of the tormentors dont always make it in.  Hopefully I'll do justice to the Dark Prince.  In the name of excess.  I have painted way more models and armies this year since October than I normally do.  Phew I want a break afterwards lol

I did it!!!! Yay!!!! Slaanesh be praised.    Well, I did a very quick and dirty dry brush with the blue white.  Its not perfect and I need to go back anyways over all these models.  Including the ones I did for Dallas.  For about 5 weeks of painting time to crank out roughly 2500 points of a new army. At least it will pass the three foot rule. Theyre table top standard but not what I  consider finished or my table top standard. Good grief.  I am not a big speed painter btw.  I'll try and get pictures from the event but I am bad about taking them.

I am super excited. I got chosen as one of the armies to be displayed for the narrative event. I am critical of my own painting especially when I still want to do more.  This is exciting.  Will follow up with some battle reports. 

 

Also,  a sneak battle report. I had a demonette kill a lord of skulls in melee!!!

Well the narrative so far had been interesting.  The terrain layout are wild. Tables that tell a story more and also not any where near balanced. 

 

My first game on Friday went terrible.  Nice player, his first game,  so we went over his rules as a necron player way too much.  Besides who takes Silent King to a narrative.  I threw Infractors, LE, Maulerfiend, KoS, WDP and even 2 rounds of noise marines shooting into it. To do only 10 wounds.... Maulerfiend got killed on the overwatch too...  sad times. Not much to say here besides his friend gave him a hard competitive list vs my more favorable list. 

 

Second game on Friday was against 1k sins. Due to narrative scoring with the missions.  I lost this one too. At least was a good fun game. Yet here's a theme. Maulerfiend dies too overwatch trying to take out zangor bots.  

 

By Saturday.  I decided Maulerfiend can sit this one out.  Quickly redid my list to add the terminators and landraider.  Landraider is an overcosted failcannon machine.  Second game ended up going against all things tau forgeworld but I was paired with a guard player.  Due to registration ticket issues I am fighting for the imperium.  So,  I don't really mind losing. This game was really carried by both baneblades. Will add about my last game on Saturday later vs world eaters.

Didn't finish my post about game 4 as my friend turned in and u didn't want to disturb him with phone light.

 

Have to say this was a great friendly game. Due to how scoring happened I lost terribly.  My opponent was like I don't understand why all my stuff is just objectively better and he's like they rules writers or whatever just didn't understand Slaanesh or Emperor's Children at all.

 

The biggest epic thing here is he had a lord of skulls. That thing worried me. When it got close to my lines.  I had only done 1 wound to it. Since it had a 5+ feel no pain from a crusade upgrade.  Managed to bring it down to 8 wounds in my shooting but could have finished it off most likely with my second squad of noise marines but I wanted to kill it in melee.  Hit it with 20 demonettes, 3 terminators and a tank shock land raider.  Managed to get it down to 2. On his turn back,  he left one squad of demonettes at 4, and his shooting got the other to 1.  Then combat phase the group of 4, did 1 more wound. Feel no pain and fishing for 6s hurt.  Finally after alternative fights first my lone demonette managed to land the killing blow.  Narrative wise we decided it should attack the lone demonette as it got the fight on death. 

 

 

Overall the grand narrative has been really fun. Due a bunch of logistics issues I was registered as a necrons player and had no idea by my friend.  Then eventually got assigned to a battle group of imperium players.  Battle groups are 10 players and it helps organizing 300 people.  So, here I been "fighting" for the imperium.  I been very openly handing my battlefield resources to one of the tzeentch characters when she comes around.  Told the room TOs my story is, my force came out of one of these webways. We're really pre horus Era. Can't you tell from our tanks?  Tanks dripping with chaos symbols, and oh we don't know where these demons have come from. They been following us. While there just doing there combat drugs.

Sounds like you faced some fun opponents, especially the your Khornate opponent. Yes, with my Maulerfiends and Defilers I have found that one is a target and two is a threat.

This narrative event has been a blast. Table layouts are not even balanced. Expect they really tell a story more than your typical competitive tables.  Nice to see units you normally wouldn't seen too.
