BadgersinHills
Hey everyone, it's been a while and I thought I would start a new thread to track my journey in getting my miniatures painted. I'm starting off with some Space Wolves as I've been really excited to get back into the Wolves since the new reveals. Will be posting my Heresy works in progress here as well. Here's an Infernus marine I'm working on as a test for the armour colour. Haven't really painted in a while so it was a little intimidating to do so in fear of ruining the miniature but I think the armour turned out pretty well as I wanted something in between Heresy grey and 40k blue-grey, this leans more blue but I rather like it. Thoughts and feedback greatly appreciated! Xin Ceithan
Welcome back! I rather like this choice of colours - more stormy winter sky than the default icy light blue Mazer Rackham and BadgersinHills 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385657-badgers-works-in-progress/#findComment-6104078 Share on other sites
Mazer Rackham
As an on-and-off dark blue Space Wolf enjoyer, I can't recall the author (Bill King/ADB): 'Their armour was dark blue, like summer skies given over to storms.' Please keep up the good work. BadgersinHills
Thank you, @Xin Ceithan and @Mazer Rackham! Excited to paint more Space Wolves. I haven't had much time to paint because of exams, but I did kitbash something. My Horus Heresy group is also starting a Badab War campaign for both KT and HH rules, so I wanted to join in. I'm going to put together a truescale Astral Claws kill team using the Angels of Death rules and I'd like to expand them to a 1000 point army in the future. Here's the first guy I've put together with some blu-tack. BadgersinHills
Hello everyone! So much for regularly updating this thread, eh? Well, life happens and some big changes later, I'm back! I've returned with something I'm really excited about. Ever since reading Scars and Path of Heaven in 2017, I've always wanted to do a White Scars Horus Heresy army. With most of the minis being resin at the time,w ith only tacticals and terminators being plastic, it seemed out of reach. Then the Horus Heresy 2nd edition dropped with glorious new plastic miniatures! I then ran into my next hurdle, which was getting a nice white armour. Struggling with the airbrush essentially put me off of this project until recently when I learned about makeup sponges for painting, and I had to give it a try. Here it is! The first member of the Ordu. I'm really happy with this, especially since it was my first time using oil paints on miniatures as well. Next is to freehand the Legion heraldry and try out some enamels for the base, and then it's on to the next. Always keep moving, as is the way of the Scars. Thanks for reading!
