Their immense experience makes these Wolf Guard Terminators a deadly and durable force on the battlefield – with the choice to swap their storm bolters for beautifully decorated storm shields – amplified by the enormous relic greataxe or lightning claws wielded by the Pack Leader.

Thats a full reveal day :)
Now Im expecting that wolfscout rumor to even more be a Kill team, not a regular release ( Im considering putting bets on Wolfscouts vs "Exodites" I think all eldar kill teams have always matched up against spacemarines of some sort havent they ? )

Wild speculation aside,

Njal went back to non-terminator armor ?

Everything looks nice, I personally liked it more if each terminator had the huge pelt ( despite disliking terminators, on wolfguard and with that pelt it always gave a great spaceviking vibe, maybe from media in my youth where vikings where represented as big, bulky and overarmored compared to their contemporaries. But I know the majority prefers less is more.

edit :

I cant get over how adorable this face looks ( and I also dont know why.. maybe its just me )

Logan might look good removed from his tactical mountain and put on a proper 40mm base. As is, yikes.

See, I think Logan looks great, he got an interesting base that lets him have some stuff next to him (his wolves), he'll presumably work like Helbrecht as a result and have a silly number of wounds for a lone on foot character. I really like the old man face he has.

Arjac looks great, I particularly like his thrown thunderhammer pose.

Njall going back to power armour is a surprise. Decent model still

Wolf Guard terminators look very good.

Overall interested to see how all this pans out rule wise.

And I guess interested to see the rumoured wolf scouts still.

Bitter enough over it that I've turned to 3d printing for blood angel bits now though. lol

edit.

To be fair, I'm specifically referring to unit love. Characters? I actually think the Blood Angel character releases were stellar across the board. It's just our rank and file and unit love was lacking by comparison

Really dig Grimnar. This is, IIRC, his third model so far, and every single one's been a winner*.

Everything else is varying shades of solid. Real nice release for the Wolf fans out there.

* Well, the actual Grimnar part, anyway. The less said about that damn sled, the better.

It was as if a million wallets cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced!

Seriously, those releases look amazing and were everything I had been hoping for from the new elite wave. I will be interested to see if the rules change at all.

Not even a space wolves player but if they release Russ on this level (I don't think this is going to happen now for the record) but if they do I am done for...

these are awesome. I love every one of them

I love this, the only thing that's disappointing is the text for the wolf guard that "stormbolters can be replaced with storm shields and the pack leader has an axe or claws" (or close enough to that). To me that means that base options are power weapon and bolter or power weapon and shield with 1 having a cannon and fist, and the pack leader having claws or a 2 handed axe.

The loss of the customisation options is a shame but hardly a surprise

Have we ever got any lore for Logan's wrist-mounted Storm Bolter btw?

Never paid it much mind but it would be really funny if he looted it from a Grey Knight during the Months of Shame and now dual wielding Khornate and Grey Knight weapons lol.

Praise the Emperor!  The furries are dead!  Space Vikings are here boys!  Not a SW fan, but those are incredible!

Poor, poor Blood Angles.  Hopefully they get something else next edition.

Globally gorgeous. Specifically beautiful.

All characters reworks are very nice. The terminators are OK in terms of design but I foresee/understand a drastic reduction in the tooling options available in terms of gaming options. Which makes me feel a little bit meewh in respect.

Great stuff, makes me feel even more sorry for the Blood Angel players.

It's quite stark.  Like the difference between DA and BA is noticeable, but not anything crazy; BA definitely leaned harder on Characters and stuff as opposed to units.

But then you see all this SW stuff and they're getting multiple bespoke units with awesome modelling and indications that care was put into the sculpts wrt previous lore meeting up with new lore.  You get just Aura-dripping models like Grimnar and Arjac.  You really get it all.

BA get... wolverine Lemartes and a cool Astorath.  Dante released outside of the rest of the faction for... reasons?  No bespoke troops besides a 3 man body guard unit.

Just feels so anemic in comparison.  Here's hoping for something nice in 11th I guess!

but wasn't that the same from 2nd till 7th? it was only with primaris and 8th that SW got access to regular space marine units. otherwise they have always been the ones where everything bar vehicles is bespoke. BA were never gonna end up with as many units. (this isn't to say BA players shouldn't feel short-shrifted on the Death Company front)

Superb refresh - Logan looks amazing, and thats a worthy glow up for Arjac.

Great to see Njal back in power armour again, like the good old days :D

The Wolf Guard Terminators look brilliant, really pleased and I hope we can give them all helmets!

As much as this timeline has been great to us Black Templar players... I'm starting to feel the great envy that comes with the fact that they did our update before the Terminator refresh, because Hot Damn I would kill for some Sword Brethren termies that were half as good as these.

If I understand correctly, the mess-up with what they got (the Sangi Guard werent well liked) coupled with how much they lost in exchange in terms of bespoke kits is the problem.

Less 'number' or 'quality' and more a tag-team that led to an unsatisfying and vaguely sad result.

Compare the similarly sized but very flavourful DA or BT release for example.

It was also the smallest if you discount upgrade sprue units (which alot of people do for better or worse).

Extra salt is that the SWs are a slap to the face of the 'its fine because minimalist and my Death Company should be disrespected paupers' crowd. Because most of the Wolves shown are fairly light on ornamentation but filled with character. Its hard to say ornamentation is the only difference in a bespoke kit when Blood Claws now exist with stripped down, modified and only slightly decorated armor and expressive faces.

Frankly, even pauper Death company should look quite a bit more psychotic, almost moreso in posing than their armour per say.

Some fantastic stuff there, far better update than what some of the other Space Marine subfactions got recently!

I've seen a lot saying that these are somehow "less wolf", but that just seems odd to me. They have the same amount of wolf theming as they've always had; every miniature here is covered in various teeth, claws, wolf-icons, skulls, furs etc to no less extent than it has been since 3rd edition with their classic codex. Complaining about it seems to be completely missing how they've been all along too, they aren't "Viking theme, with some wolf", it's the other way around - the wolfy-ness is their primary element.

Very pleased with all of these. Logan is stunning, as is Arjac. Hopefully we get the rumoured Wolf Scout/Kill Team box, and an upgrade sprue, with a decent set of transfers with lots of Great Company representation.
