Oh man, those Wolf Guard. Incredible.

 

Njall is also a long-time favourite character of mine, and I always liked his old design, so I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about his new incarnation. It's phenomenal though, I can't wait to get him.

He had PA originally so I guess he is returning to his origins. We have both Logan and Arjac in TDA so I don't mind having another character who can join PA squads. A lot of it will depend on what abilities he has. Actually Runic Armour is really nice and would have been great with 4W WG TDA.

Yeah it was a joke. I didn't really think they were over 10K years old.

I am guessing not since we have not seen a kit for a generic Wolf Lord. I suspect it will just be an addition keyword for Captain (and Ragnar). I suspect we will get a sheet for Wolf Guard Battle Leader since we are getting a new kit that includes options not available to standard Lieutenant.

I wouldn’t mind if they had variations of the same character being able to use different armors. 
 

Calgar - in an older SM codex - could be fielded in power armor or terminator armor.

Your observation does bring up the question about the old man Russ rumor. I wonder if the rumor got started by someone uninitiated in 40K who saw the Logan with the wolves concept and assumed it was old man Leman Russ.

The 2 wolves are definitely a Leman Russ thing even if his pair are ghosts now.

Afaik there never was an actual Old man Leman russ rumor, only wishlists/theories/opinions. (same as the opposite wulfen/feral leman russ wishlists/theories/opinions )

There have been varying Leman russ rumors over the years ofcourse, including more reliable sources (at least then) but never with details beyond the name drop.

 

Considering Logan grimnar could always be taken without a sled, it might be that the earlier design stage/plan for this model is much older than the usual, and he is linked to the leman russ rumors anyway, but I think its unlikely, not in the least because of the terminator armor.

Glad you saw humor in the rumor engine. I was fretting between that one and a tombstone hoping the joke would land.
