Some fantastic stuff there, far better update than what some of the other Space Marine subfactions got recently!

I've seen a lot saying that these are somehow "less wolf", but that just seems odd to me. They have the same amount of wolf theming as they've always had; every miniature here is covered in various teeth, claws, wolf-icons, skulls, furs etc to no less extent than it has been since 3rd edition with their classic codex. Complaining about it seems to be completely missing how they've been all along too, they aren't "Viking theme, with some wolf", it's the other way around - the wolfy-ness is their primary element.

If they continue riding around saddled up on wolves and flying wolf shaped aircraft I’ll concede the point to you.

but wasn't that the same from 2nd till 7th? it was only with primaris and 8th that SW got access to regular space marine units. otherwise they have always been the ones where everything bar vehicles is bespoke. BA were never gonna end up with as many units. (this isn't to say BA players shouldn't feel short-shrifted on the Death Company front)

Not really, no.  In 5th we got the Tac Squad (Or was it 6th?) so even just on that axis, BA players are used to having bespoke kits even for normal SM units; we had access to some of the best GW bits in extremely generous quantities.  DA got a little shafted, but even then, ICC iconography is easy to sprinkle around the force as well as their upgrade sprue having a lot of character to it.  BA upgrade sprue is "Here's some vampire heads, here's your shoulderpads, here's 10 keychains" and that's about it; none of our normal angel iconography, nothing to harken to the idea of BA as master artisans who use their artistic chops to bend the red thirst to their whims as opposed to being in it's thrall.  Just really anything that would make our force look good.  SW can take any of their previewed stuff so far and really outfit an entire range of space marine things with Wolf-y bits and BA REALLY got shafted on that angle, DA to a somewhat lesser extent.

But to answer the supposition about unit count (Which wasn't my point); I wasn't asking for bespoke units in the sense of datasheets, but there's no good reasoning behind Death Company being a paintjob unit; if you WANTED to do that, you were always able to do that, and as one of our most iconic units, it deserved a kit that actually gave some character, as opposed to something that basically ate our entire upgrade sprue as well as increasing the cost to even field the unit; these SW boxes are going to be in line with a normal SM box, but if you want DC, you've gotta buy a AInt box PLUS at least one Upgrade Sprue, probably two.  That's brutal if you didn't manage to get in on the early boxes.

I don't want to belabor this any more because it should be about celebrating SW's pretty awesome refresh so I won't keep on complaining.  But as a BA player who got their refresh 6 months ago, I'm pretty annoyed at the disparity.

The Terminators themselves look good, but based on what's being shown I have a bad feeling they're going to go the same route of Datasheet that Chaos Terminators did, which makes for a clunky unit I hate reading or rolling for.

Guessing this was what the main design team was working on when Blood Angels were being refreshed.

Just hoping that Bjorn is still around, and not given the Yarrick treatment.

Really dig Grimnar. This is, IIRC, his third model so far, and every single one's been a winner*.

Everything else is varying shades of solid. Real nice release for the Wolf fans out there.

* Well, the actual Grimnar part, anyway. The less said about that damn sled, the better.

100% agree all his previous incarnations were all great.

Njal on the other hand looked amazing in termie armour. The new model looks great but the old one looked better to me. That could have just been scaled up and I would have been happy.
