This is a typo.

It meant to be "halfling size".

Hasn't he heard of second templates?!

That or (BBQ) meat is back on the menu boys.

Both work?...

I'm taking the survivability comment to mean marines will be going to 2 wounds

This would necessitate a points hike and shrink army sizes, which I'm not sure would be on the bingo card?

Not necessarily

They could just make non marine things cheaper

Currently nearly every marine unit has a starting size tax of between 25 to 50pts  apart from despoilers and tacs

An assault squad is say 150pts stock but an assault marine is only 10pts ( Figures used are incorrect because I can't remember the rules for posting actual points)

I think 2 wounds for all marines might be a bit of a stretch. Marines already had a survivability increase in 2.0 with the  general reduction in AP3 or better and the nerf to most artillery.

I think it’d be a bit tedious having to whittle away 2 wounds each from a basic tactical squad. It would make bolters feel pretty worthless and an army like SA might as well not bother shooting their las rifles. We know from the changes they made to the amount of wounds models had in Kill Team that they’re aware of the negative player experience of rolling loads of dice only to feel like it did nothing. To avoid that they’d have to make more substantial changes across the board. They may well do that but it feels unlikely if 3.0 is just a rules cleanup or refinement.

Awesome, some pictures at last, thank you for that !

I'm gonna say it first: I really, really hope the rules are magnificent or at least amazing in this 3rd ed. rulebook.

Because the models look like utter garbage. A spoiled brat's action-figure wet dream.

3rd party iterations of Saturnine terminatos looked better. Whoever pooped this out should be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

Will bite the bullet here.

These look awesome, I think they did the best they could with the innate silliness of the Saturnine but I am surprised how much I love the Dread. The Praetor just looks great though.

Ironically enough, the only thing I hate about them is the Dreadnought pattern literally just being the 'Saturnine Dreadnought', idk just feels wrong to not give them a distinct name.

That pales next to the MKII though, they beat the daylights out of the MKIII redesign, I might be hallucinating but they kept layering in the plate which I had given up for lost. I am super pleases.

The turret just looks insane though, looks like a tank-buster.

My wallet will weep but I'm pleased.

I'll reserve full judgement for clearer pictures.

I get that the old collected visions had some very odd looking things in it, but I feel like the execution has been off translating it. The original heresy waves were "stuff you were familiar with, but more utilitarian and/or nu-retro". The entire aesthetic feels reimagined with 2nd, which is weird because the firstborn stuff is scrapped from 40k so heresy should have been the bastion of the older sculpts. The aesthetic throughline to 3rd-4th Marines and feels pretty lost at this point.

The termis don't look anywhere near as bad as I expected them to. I won't be rushing to get any but they look about as good as they could while still being Egginators, the praetor in terminator armour is actually very nice! I really like the Dread, it looks fantastic and huge, the MK2s look great from what I can see, would like to get a closer look though. Confirmed new cover on the rule book as well.

Definitely want a better look at that gun too.

On closer look, its interesting that the Saturnine are bloody massive (x2 the height!), its an interesting interpretation of their insane proportions to just outright make them exo-suits.

Forgive bringing lore into this, but it does make me wonder if they are going with Saturnine being a fundamentally different tool than other Terminators, they seem more like pitched battle pieces than boarders/decapitators like most Terminators.

I am also inclined to think that we are going to hear about their being much more DAoT pieces than most.

Those MK2 look great but I also like the Saturnite Terminators. The Sat Prestor looks overdone just like the terrible last two plastic praetors but salvageable. The new dread seems off because it speaks the same armour language as the Warlord titan with those layered plates but still nice.

The gun plattform looks like the old one forgewold used to sell and is a very odd model for this box. Nice terrain bit though.

Now we have to wait for good pictures.

So 1 day from now.

399 hours is 16 days.

At first glance, absolutely love the Mark II, not sold on the Terminators/Dreadnought. A better picture/more traditional heresy style paintjob may well change my mind.

Really excited to hear more about the rules, and I'm also really keen to recreate my favourite OG Heresy plate with the new plastic Mark II:

Their size stood out to me too, they're chonky! Lore implications are interesting.

The praetor looks gorgeous, and I think the terminators with the fists look decent but only some clearer photos will tell. I'll be picking some of those up for 40k for sure.

All of this feels so weird, and I don't mean the leaked minis, I mean the rumors, the marketing campaign with the fake website, the leaked pictures of the boxset, and this late at night in the UK warcom makes a HH post not even an hour after the boxset leak.

From the blurry picture you can more or less read the first bullet point: "Warhammer The Horus Heresy - Age of Darkness ???? pages Third Edition Hardback Rulebook"

Also Warhammer Dallas Open had a preview event for the 22nd of May and it was canceled: https://web.cvent.com/event/4928ecba-01fb-4110-981d-1971e98f0847/summary

GW is in full damage control mode now it seems? This is all so weird.

Yup, it's quite weird.

The intern posting that article in the middle of the night, 30 minutes after the 'leaks'.

399 hrs. would be in 16 days, as people mentioned, so the 28th.

Aligns with the cancelation of the Dallas preview on the 22nd.
