If the Saturnine Terminators can be taken in squads of 6, in a unit with a Primarch and another character, and can be transported in a Spartan, then I will invest in this set.

I really like the Dreadnought.

I really dislike the Praetor.

Fairly sure it's Phobos, though it almost looks like it has a scope attatched it? Maybe part of the sprue which has the Disintegrator on it? It could just be PotatoCam messing up the pixels though.

Man, you know what, this leaking actually bums me out a bit. I know I'm behind in the conversation but this is what I woke up to

My girlfriend and I always watch the preview shows, she's not super into warhammer but it's something we have done since we started dating four years ago. Normally we turn on Valrak, laugh at the corporate talk of the stream, and she watches me bounce off the walls when the new CGI trailers drop. Sometimes it's at a decent time for us, sometimes we get up at 2am. It's become a tradition

Then I actually do kind of feel bad for the marketing team. Do I love the tongue-in-cheek approach that they were doing? Not really, but they spent a lot of time on that stuff building up to the event

I know it probably sounds whiny, but with all the stuff happening in the world right now, it was kind of nice to have something to look forward to, and see the community not fighting about for once as people try to figure it all out

All ruined because someone on the internet couldn't wait until after the reveal show to sell their box.

Like I said I get that the rant probably sounds whiny, it's just bummed me out a bit. I'll save my thoughts on the models for after the nicer pictures

After the release on the Horus Hearsay site (which was a slap in the face for HH fans), I am happy the box set got revealed in this manner.

Now, onto the pictures that was revealed, I am not impressed.  MK II is my favorite mark, and are the only unit I like at first glance.  The rest does not look stellar.  Let see what happens when we got clearer pictures.

Kind of wish they would have retconned the Saturnine armor from Terminators to Warsuits.  I know they are inspired by the OG Terminators, but they seem less Tactical-Dreadnought to me, and more piloted like a Centurion or Invictor warsuit. Terminators also makes me think of the Legion elite. These guys look more like heavy support troops. Aka Centurions (Warsuits, not legion officers)

Anyways, looking forward to the new lore for the Saturnine stuff. Dread and Terms.

Why was it a slap in the face? It's a was a humorous self-depreciating engagement with their online crowd.

Any guesses on base sizes for the termies and dread?

50mm for the Termies seems a safe bet. Incidentally those are also sold in 3s on the webstore.

Dreadnought I still think will be on an 80mm like the Leviathan, since the Telemon is on a 100mm but doesn't eat up most of that space like the Saturnine does. It could be the Saturnine is a less 'refined' version of the Telemon and ends up on 100mm as well though.

Seems a odd thing to feel so strongly about, why don't you like it?

I've seen a number of comments not liking the units of 3 and I'll give my thoughts on why people might not like it for their infantry.

When heresy launched in 2012, the way they wrote the army list made it feel very different to 40k of the time. Most infantry units went up to 20, like how CSM allowed; tanks could be squadroned, like imperial guard; units could be entirely specialized, like eldar. It all felt like you were breaking the list building rules of 40k and doing something very different.

So the fear is that the unit is just going to be a big standard unit of 3, modern 40k style. Personally, I can see 3 being the minimum (like the command squad) and it going up to 9 or 10. As long as it has that heresy balloon room people won't mind, like how land speeders come in units of 1 but can go up to 5.

Glad for the Mk2.  I’d rather had 4 first but I’m guessing it’s next so no biggie.  As far as the rest of the box, I’ll just wait for the mk 2 box to come out.  The Saturnine stuff is too cartoonishly silly for my taste.

Rather than a Horus Heresy box this looks like a Great Crusade box.

Early Armour Mark Iron Warriors crusading alongside a detachment of Salamanders with the some porotype-alternate-terminator based on the Saturnine warsuite...

Ready to bring a new world into compliance.

Now we need to come up with an onomatopoeic equivalent of "choom" for those disintegrators...

Quasi-historical semi-retro-futuristic dollies are serious business only for refined scholars and gentlemen.

I get that viewpoint, I like reveal shows and always feel for the guys at GW who were excited to show it off.

Also, FWIW, she sounds like a keeper!

Personally love the new dread but I'll need to see a better image of the termies. Would have been nice to get a clearer picture of the MK2 centurion because that terminator praetor just isn't doing it for me.

Seeing some comments from people that 3.0 will do away with FoC too, which would suck.

Completely agree with this. GW should spend more time on their rules and models instead of this silliness.

I'm interested in seeing better pics of the models, in particular the mkII as it is my favorite armor mark.

I'd prefer it if their marketing team doesn't work on either the rules or the models, they have designers for that. You do realise that GW is not a singular behemoth entity and marketing efforts have no bearing on quality of minis or rules?

They're totally different teams...

all i care about is the dread and termi's... shame i won't be able to use them in 40k

Seems like nice alternative models for Redemptor dreadnought and Centurions to me.
