Naryn
Well, there's the base for that leaker who said they saw a dreadnought so much like a Warjack that they were shocked it was allowed. I don't hate anything we see here, new heavy weapons are always cool, and some tweaks to Saturnine Terminators could really make them shine. I think the Dreadnought is a little too curvy and rhe head is slightly too small, if someone threw a sarcophagus on there I bet it'd look much better. DuskRaider
Interesting to see GW finally recognize the Saturnine Pattern armor after literal decades of pretending it didn’t exist and having the fan base fill in the gaps. I’m not a fan of the design with the two plasma guns, but I do think there’s potential there. The Dreadnought is interesting, though I would have suspected a much more rudimentary armament if this is considered the first Mark of Dreadnought design. Kinda seems like they’re going bigger and better when it should be bigger and probably technologically inferior. The Saturnine Praetor looks horrible. Too much useless detail and crap slapped on. Seems to be their design philosophy for GW Heresy. I’m happy to see Mk. II get some recognition. Besides Mk. III, this would have been the most common Armor Mark during the Heresy, with Mk. IV being much less common and Mk. VI being a blip on the map. What battle is this box supposed to represent? I can’t recall a time when Irons Warriors squared off against Salamanders save perhaps Isstvan V. Even then, I don’t think they saw much Legion vs Legion combat focused on the two, I seem to remember it was the XIVth that butchered the Sons of Vulkan. GW has a whole 400-hour countdown going for the release, teasing the arrival on Isstvan V. Presumably, that countdown just got a little bit shorter. Big fan of the egg termies, and that big dreadnought is excellent. Looking forward to some higher definition pictures soon. caladancid, ZeroWolf, Petitioner's City and 1 other 2 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385821-new-edition-or-just-horus-hearsay/page/15/#findComment-6109380 Share on other sites

You do realise that GW is not a singular behemoth entity and marketing efforts have no bearing on quality of minis or rules? I feel quite sorry for the marketing team. They do put quite a lot of effort into their release shows and then it gets spoiled in advance by blurry leaks. 01RTB01, ThaneOfTas, CL_Mission and 8 others 11 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385821-new-edition-or-just-horus-hearsay/page/15/#findComment-6109385 Share on other sites

As an aside, I guess this also shows that GW aren't averse to hopping around the timeline. Remember when 2.0 dropped with the focus on Cthonia, there was a lot of worry in the community online that the setting would now be stuck in an endless Siege of Terra loop. phandaal, Dalmyth, Urauloth and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385821-new-edition-or-just-horus-hearsay/page/15/#findComment-6109386 Share on other sites

I hope the team can take the leaks in good humour, I can totally understand having something like this getting out to be a huge bummer for the team who's job it is to plan and put together reveal show and schedules and such, they probably had quite a bit planned for this one. For small releases it's one thing but I'm sure this would be a big deal. At the same time though I love a good rumour or leaked picture of up coming models and will share them with others when they turn up so it's not like I'm helping at all. The enhanced images are selling me more on the Terminators, the one reservation I have is the plate over the abdomen and I think I would prefer them more if they had a more standard waist with a belt buckle and everything. Even more sold on the Dreadnought too. phandaal 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385821-new-edition-or-just-horus-hearsay/page/15/#findComment-6109391 Share on other sites
Doobles57
I do like that they Horus Hearsay website is leaning into the leaks and going with them. Best way to turn the leak to a positive rather than being forced into an early full reveal like we've seen in the past. Quote The box clearly states not suitable for under 3s, but also recommended for age 12+, meaning there is an age range where you can HOLD the box, but not open it. Therefore, this photo must have been taken by a child aged 4-11. It’s the only explanation. That might also account for the shoddy camera work. This did make me chuckle. Huge, galaxy-spanning warp storm that causes complete chaos, makes precise navigation impossible and gives the Traitors the upper hand surely allows for every possible permutation of scenario? Also, the FW Black Books managed to do plenty with the narrative they addressed. IMO it was more that they could never keep pace with the Black Library books. Urauloth
I don't like the eggs, but if you're an egg armour fan and you've been waiting for them for years, then I'm happy for you. What I do like is the plastic Mk II, especially as a fan of the I and XIV Legions. I like the move back to Istvaan, too, if we get more releases in the future exploring different parts of the Heresy timeline. I'm not just saying that because I want to see stuff for Thramas* but because I think there's still a lot of potential in the setting, and I'd also like to see the range filled out and plasticised more before actually starting the siege proper. *Only kind of MoriyaSchism, Antarius, apologist and 1 other 1 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385821-new-edition-or-just-horus-hearsay/page/15/#findComment-6109407 Share on other sites

If I were a gambling man, I'd expect each set will have 5 each of a special and heavy variant (with the pictured being the heavy), and then another 5-10 pistols. Begs the question then if the Vets are getting Disintegrators as an option, will the same be true for TSS/HSS?
