I might be in the minority but I don't like anything in this box, model-wise.

Easy pass for me.

Will pick up rulebook and markers separately.

You are definitely not in the minority. Pop over to Crusade and Heresy and you’ll find plenty of like minded…. friends

I could see why a lot of folks aren't thrilled with this box but I'm certainly picking one up. I adore the absurd aesthetic that 40k can have sometimes and saturnine terminators lean into that a lot. I'll be fielding a unit of them regularly.

I get what you're saying, but I prefer the style of rifle seen on the Rogue Trader anniversary miniature or mixing other Imperial weapons with the Adrathic Destructor. I made one my own a while back.

Yeh that was a nice little mini

GW has said it's fake

The whole thing is a tongue in cheek hype generating setup. It's also entirely possible that this box leak was done deliberately by GW to keep the hype train going.

I've no idea how anyone reads the Hearsay website and thinks it's anything other than confirmation of 3rd edition and this box?!?

They also said "there's an age range where you can HOLD the box, but not open it.

Therefore this photo must have been taken by a child aged 4-11."

Not sure I'm believing either of those statements...

The Saturnine if anything is peak HH. Completely wacky technology

Peak Saturnine for me was this interpretation.

Would like to see more of the official models but was hoping for something more like these.

You can find models like this on Cults3D. People have been producing Saturnine for a while because the design is a popular one.

I think (if real) the MKII don't look different enough from the current new MkIII and they should have done MKV.

I've always though the Saturnine models looked goofy and their design and proportions feel too RT and not grimdark enough for the post-3rd edition feel of the universe (30k included).

I've been waiting for plastic MkV for over 10 years now (Badab War fans would buy the [redacted] out of these). I have been waiting for plastic MkII, but these look almost the same. I would have dropped MkV first in order to keep the MkII and MkIII releases from being back to back given how visually similar they are.

So this one is a disappointment on my end.

Personally, and I think many are going to "respectfully disagree", but don't like at all the extra magazine clips in the bolters used by Saturnine Terminators (Or "bunny" Terminators as they were call in ancient times).

It looks so...orkish.

I'm a little unsure about the Saturnine models but overall I will definitely be buying a box - and really hoping it's an edition-long box, not a super-limited launch box.

The dreadnought reminds me of an Acastus Knight Asterius.

I think we all knew that egg-marines were going to be divisive, which makes the choice to put them in the starter a little strange, really.

I guess that if the price point is lower than the MKII marines and the rulebook seperately it will sell regardless of people's feelings on the terminators. We'll just see a bunch of egg-men on the second hand market.

You can't genuinely think this isn't real?

like for real, so many judging the models already when you can't really see them.

I mean you get a rough idea, but the fine print could swing it either way if you ask me.

to me it seems promising, I've always been curious what a modern interpretation of the Egginators would look like

As opposed to Mark 4 looking very different from the snout nosed helmet, large flat armor with cables of Mark 6?

I've been seeing complaints of the 3 year edition gap and speculation of churn, with the rhetoric being "we should just stick with 2nd". People are really picking 2nd as their hill to die on? Of the two, the edition with the most polarized have/have nots, un-tested changes warping the game, and hyper punishment with reactions?

I'm starting to feel like I'm living in the twilight zone.

I don’t think it’s because they love 2.0, rather it’s that people don’t want a new edition of rules after only three years, and 2.0 is what is readily available right now. If you could still readily pick up Black Books for less than several hundred dollars, then people would be saying “forget this, let’s just stick with 1.0”.

Of course, if that was true, many people (myself included) would have never bought any 2.0 books. As it stands now, if 3.0 ends up being a significant change from 2.0, I am going to buy some $300-400 Black Books. Why not? It would cost me close to $200 just for the core rulebook and the 2x Marine Libers if they stick to 2.0 pricing, plus now there are rumors that there are going to be additional Arcane Journal style books, so there’s potentially several hundred more dollars. Plus I believe that today’s GW is neither willing nor able to put out something half as good as an Alan Bligh Black Book.

It seems to be GW's pattern with AOS, HH and 40K on a rotating 3 year release cycle. That gives them a big splash release every summer to help drive sales.

oh there is a 3rd edition box, this just isn't it.

That rumour site they have set up isn't meant to be an entirely serious 100% accurate thing.

no and that is why they are poking fun at the fake image. that doesn't mean the box is real at all.

yeah the response is meant to seem that way because it's silly, why would they but both on the box?

You’re being sardonic but yes, a new edition made entirely by the same team is probably going to be better than right now.

So the key here is to make Old World so successful that GW will want to add it into the rotation, thus moving all the other games to 4 year cycles.
