Isn’t that painted markings and/or decals?

Quite possible on the legs though it could be the case that the dread was 3D printed and is missing certain bits or something was changed like with the BT castellans gun

I was wrong about the spikes near the head to they’re oriented the wrong way maybe they were a late edition like I said seems strange if not

You know, I've actually suggested tying reactions (if they have to be kept) to praetors, since they're largely useless compared to the consuls. Make the masters of warfare and command the unit that allows you to pull really janky gotchas, since they're the only ones experienced enough to read the battle and predict the necessary reaction. Or make it a leadership based test to pull off (like AT), with characters obviously boosting it?

Even better, make it an ability Centurions have (low number of orders/reactions) and Praetors have (higher number of orders/reactions) and then consuls can a single per turn or something to emphasize the specialism. Narratively it makes sense for a consul to join a company but the line officer underneath him is the one keeping it moving.

GW already confirmed they are looking at redesigning Tartaros and Cataphracti to come in line with the new Indomitus scale. No timescale given but another 3 years for a launch box seems like a long time even by their standards?

Some people are put off the current Tartaros for looking small next to mk vi - hence why upscaling tutorials exist. Scale creep continues.

Did they? I seem to remember them saying on stream wouldn't it be nice or something along those lines a very non commital answer

Hmmm I don’t watch the streams - I thought I’d read it on Warcom. I just checked the most likely articles and didn’t find it, although one had a broken link and wouldn’t load - so enter your conspiracy theory here. Sorry if I have spread misinformation, false hope, false concern …

I’ve recently heresy-fied an Indomitus squad for my Raven Guard. They are a bit big but not crazily so I think.

Here’s a squad with a few random things to give an idea what they’d look like in a game. They do stand out as big chonky guys to be honest, but I think they’re ok. Very nice models too I think.

Anyway, the new Saturnines look like they’ll be bigger. Weird scales are now just a thing in heresy, apparently.

These look fantastic. What's the significance of the red arm? When I see red I usually think of Deliverer Terminators.

Glad you like them, thanks. The idea for my army is that they’re late heresy, possibly at the siege or behind the lines somewhere. They have newer kit like the mk6 armour, Indomitus terminators and the boxnaught for that reason. I’ve got things like Mars class predators too, though that’s partly just because I had them.

I wanted some remnants of old stuff though. The red arm is because this guy used to be a deliverer. He’s a grumpy old Terran and has a unification honour too. It’s nice to break up the uniformity and have a very occasional bit of colour in the monochrome.

Man I hope the rumors of the 1.0 black books being reprinted turns out true, the fact they are returning to Isstvan for the teaser at least gives me hope.

Are those actual rumours or has the wishlisting at the beginning of this thread circled fully back around again?

They should have just done this from the get go, and have Started at the Beginning!

I kinda like Tartaros being the same height as a normal marine. It's supposed to be faster and more high tech.

That's really cool. I love the use of the Librarian colours. Makes me think of the old Index Astartes examples of Librarians. Also Mars pattern is best pattern.

How has this been moved forward if the preview is now on the 23rd? Wasnt the Dallas preview happening next Thursday the 22nd, before it was cancelled?

The initial countdown article mathed out to the 29th. Since the announcement today is them drastically reducing the countdown as well one can conclude that it is moved forward. The dallas preview being cancelled but also not properly announced on warcom just means we can disregard it fully.

Glad it's been brought forward a little! Getting really excited now. I hope they provide some insights into what's changing from 2.0 > 3.0 that isn't just the usual corporate gobbledygook about it being the best edition ever. Curious if we'll see more than just the box.

Dusted off and re-read my copy of Massacre and I am thoroughly hyped. Those early years of the heresy after its original launch were magical. Fingers crossed this captures some of that glory.

I'm very curious on the timeframe. If we get the box relatively quickly, i.e preorder last week of may, early June with the first expansion wave a month later. Or if we're going to have to wait another month or two for anything.

I can't see them dumping a new edition a week after it is first officially previewed. They'll probably want to build up hype for a month or two

the 23rd?

Aw yeah, it's all coming together for a surprise Dreadwing release. 23 is the magic number.

I'm hoping that they show something(s)  along with the box.

Jokes aside I'm hoping we'll see some stuff that's not part of the box. For example all the Legion Rapier gun platforms disappeared from the store. I think plastic Rapiers and Tarantulas might be part of the preview.

Yeah, I will be a little disappointed if they don't show off something else.

I've been enjoying the whole Horus Hearsay, leak, response saga but it would be a little underwhelming to have a big reveal of something we've seen, even if blurry.

Something I noticed with the salamander squad, I don’t think those are bolters, I think there’s two types of disintegrators, one underhanded that looks like a heavier version and one carried like a normal rifle
